Reviews for "The Rise of a Knight"

eehh...

the graphics were good, but the game was pointless, nothing to achive nothing to do than run and press s all the time

SeethingSwarm responds:

I thought it was "a",
Anyway, glad you liked at least the ar. I know I'll have to improve on the gameplay for the sequel...

not so good

okay all I had to do was hold down and the right arrow to win......the graphics weren't great and there wasn't anything else to do other than hold and and the right arrow. The music was alright but I wish that there had been side games to gain lvls for new weapons or something. The story line kinda stunk cause I mean it isn't very orginal when it comes to a knight saves a princess.....and the game is called "the rise of the knight" but when you come into the game the guy is already a knight. We don't know his name but we know he is already a knight so how is that a rise of a knight? but anyway that is what I thought.

SeethingSwarm responds:

The lead character is NOT a knight. He is a guard. He only becomes a knight at the very end of the game. This review upset me because the narration makes it pretty damn clear that he is not a knight, but a guard. The word guard is mentioned a LOT in the story. The word Knight is never used except in the last few sentences of the game and in the title.

game was too hard

kept repeating it self
add like new weapons and skills and make him lvl up
and the spider part was too hard u cant beat it while the spider master was spitting on u n the 2 small spiders was atking you
make it 1v1 when it comes to boss

SeethingSwarm responds:

Sorry this disappointed you so much to give my efforts a 2 out of ten. Well, you gotta fight with strategy and use your different attacks wisely. The heavy attack is especially useful against the spiders. And you gotta pass through under the spider queen before she spews on you etc etc. Strategy goes a long way with games.

The hitbox is too big

It's too easy to just sit there, holding the quick attack button, and letting things run into your sword. The hitbox also extends well past the tip of your sword, allowing me to kill the big fat goblins when the were 2 feet away from the edge of my sword.

Also, I have seen way too many good hack and slashes, such as Staffy the Boy scout slayer, to play this.

Sorry bro.

Nice graphics, though.

SeethingSwarm responds:

I understand. The hit detection is defintely flawed and I know this game needs improvement. I have learned a lot while making this game so that the sequel will not be as flawed as this one. This is just the best I could do at the time. But, really, do you think my efforts were worth only 2? Thanks for the review anyway.

Uh noes!

I played for like 15 minutes, all i did was holding down forward and A.... The gameplay is way to basic.

SeethingSwarm responds:

Yeah its meant to be a simple hack 'n slash game. Wait untill you get to more dangerous creatures, then you'll start using your shield much more often as well as your special move. Anyway, glad you gave it a try, but sorry you didnt like it.
