They're not Japanese, they are Chinese. The first character is "fat" and the second one is backwards (I forgot to flip it again in the video) for "rat". So "fat rat".

Although i agree that dr. mario shouldn't be in brawl, young link, roy, mewtwo, and pichu should have been. These four are actually who i mained as in melee.
