Reviews for "Principled Depravity"

Hmm..

It was good. No doubts about that, but what it really lacks is subtlety...I mean it starts with background information, bla bla bla, and then suddenly his wife has been kidnapped? Just something to work on in the future :P.

LogFish responds:

Well, NG has never been particularly good at being patient I've found - you can stretch out a suspense moment, but a character-development moment I'm not so sure about! Anyway there's much more I have planned for poor old Graham hahaha, he's gonna have a lousy time - so stay tuned lol.

But point taken - I'll try and work on structure a bit more in future episodes!

The coolest 3D movie on the site.

Overall this was the most stylish, and cinematic 3D movie I have seen on the entire site. Though it isnt without its imperfections the final product was superb on all levels. The visuals, to start, were very well done overall. I liked the use of really only black, white and grey to give it that sort of Sin City feel as you mentioned. The character design was cool, though perhaps a little rough around the edges, and it would be nice to have some backgrounds if you could manage. The camera angles were pretty well used for the most part as well, to kind of give the audience a different perspective on the scene, you even went first-person for a little bit! The action sequences all looked and sounded great, you were successful in making it seem as though there was really a lot of chaos happening on screen. While the voice acting was pretty decent it was still kind of hard to understand what they were saying because of the lower quality, but at least you put in subtitles. Other than that I loved everything about the sound including the gunshots and the great music.

Overall this was an awesome start to a possible new series. You should definitely continue this series and keep improving at what you do!

LogFish responds:

Thank you so much, what a nice review! I think I will continue it with this kind of reception :)

Thanks again, you're a great reviewer!

Story + action + style!

Friggin' awesome, man. Some things like the plants could have looked better if they'ed been hand-made instead of 3D, but since that would have taken hours and hours longer than what you did with Swift3D, I don't blame you. I agree that the explosion scenes needed some orange particle fire or something. Perspective felt a bit off in a few of the dramatic perspective shots, like when he's pointing a gun at the camera, his hand and the gun should look bigger than they otherwise would.

These are all extremely minor complaints, though, compared to the awesomeness of the final product. You've done the three things almost nobody does on Newgrounds. You actually put some effort into it. You actually told a coherent story. And you tied everything together with a unified style. For doing those three things, you get full points. Can't wait to see you do it again later.

LogFish responds:

Thanks a lot! I know this is a shameful plug but you might like my SC series if you like plot (unfinished currently, needed a break so did this one) - start with StarCraft: Reconnoiter heh.

Yea there's definately a few things I can work on here, admittedly this is doing far better than I anticipated, I did this more for my own entertainment than anything else! I'll put more work into ironing out bugs and things in later episodes - thanks a lot for the big handy review!

great job

really really liked it...the voiceovers could have been a bit clearer but the subtitles helped clear up what he was saying...your running sequence could use a bit of work too lol but otherwise a spectacular flash :)

LogFish responds:

Thanks! Haha yea he's a bit of a rigid bastard running isn't he lol.

hmm

Nice work with the 3d.

LogFish responds:

Thanks! Yes I don't think people use it enough, Swift3D is bloody amazing - and when they can do bones and everything, my god it's going to be a revolution in Flash!
