Reviews for "Tower's Tactics: Throne"

Very polished game

Very good tutorial system but not my kind of game. i can see there was alot of time and effort put in and for the right person would be a good game. The gameplay for me was a bit slow and overly complex for what it really was. Take a look at my game ThermoStorm and tell me what you think? if you made your game more fluid and fast paced it would be alot better i think.

Micromanagement Hell

I love these games and I really gave this one a shot. I got all the way up to the bad guy on the horse, the guy that shows up with one crossbowman and then kills off all your guys almost instantly. That one.

I can't really add to what's already been said, so just to reiterate:

*Bunching together makes it hard to select which guy you want or which enemy to hit.
*Enemy spawning is awfully fast, but not impossible to over come. I'd have like to not have to worry about scrolling, but knowing they were a ways off gave me time to deploy more guys.
*My longbowman didn't do crap. He never learned more than 2 skills and after 8 battles was only up to 26% on the other skills. Is that by design? He was worthless.
*The customization was nice, being able to name each person and give them a god that affected their favour was a nice touch.
*The guy on the horse was insane, I don't know that there is a way to beat him. Why can your hero die in other battles but not this one? Knowing that I'd deploy him last and hope my other dudes could hold on (which they couldn't.)
*Music didn't bother me and the sounds were nice. I'd have like to have seen better avatars for the other players since our hero had a nice one, seemed ill planned. Either they all have the nice avatars or they all have the captured avatars, just a polish.

You probably can't make it turn based at this point, but it'd be so much nicer to manage than this, although this is slightly more realistic, it's just hard on the eyes.

Good work.

Dang! ^_^

Dang! Boy! That was one of the best Games that I've played!
Great Graphics, Sounds, Interactivity....
Plus that Video at the beginning, man the best!

Great Work! Hope, there'll be another one... ^_^
You've got a great Talent!

Way too Clunky

This is what happens when you try to implement turn-based tactics game controls into an RTS. It doesn't work.

Also, the bug about the commands not responding immediately still applies somewhat. What you should do is either shape the game around the controls by implementing an in-game pause, or shaping the controls around the game by having hotkeys for selecting units and selecting targets when using a skill

i.e. Press 2 to select your monk, Press 1 to select Aid then press 1 to heal your hero, then immediately press 3 and now you've selected your bowman. Press W to select attack, then use the arrow keys to switch between enemies. Press ENTER to choose the enemy you want to attack, etc.

The controls as they currently are are just WAY too difficult to use effectively. I think that it might be easier to program in a Pause function. Although, if it sets the unit movement to 0 until pause is deactivated, then the animations will still continue. Still better than it is currently

not bad...

it was okay, the only problem i had with it was it was to slow to start of with... and there was a fair amount of time spent waiting for it to load. i think it was a good game tho
