Reviews for "Star Serpent"

hate to say..

what the other peoples reviews say are mostly true. You don't provide much a variety in enemies to kill, its too easy to dodge their attacks, and the levels go on for hours and bore you half to death- not to mention the background is nothing but stars in space.
Granted, i did see a difference in the weapons you gave- but the strongest weapon had you sitting in the back waring out your wrist because its all semi-auto fire.
i went straight to the hardest level to see how cool the boss may be- but instead i got half an hour of killing the same 3 enemies which dont live up to their difficulty level you placed them in.
Finally- after i had wasted half an hour of my life on one level- i gave up just to see what dieing would look like. It took forever to get my health bar to zero and when i did i was still alive. I had to wait till the kill score had added up all my points- then i died (which took about 5 minutes)
I can see you put most of your effort into the weaponry in this game- which is cool and all. but you really gota work on the game itself..

OMG

I played the first level and thought, "hey this is pretty decent, this boss never fucking dies though..."

Then the second level I spent fucking 30 minutes shooting the same god damn enemies with the same god damn weapon that killed them the best. Then I accidentally picked up a shitty weapon and spent another 2 minutes with it before I gave up EVER seeing the boss or the end of this terrible level.

That was only system B I am terrified as to how
long the tougher ones are. Are they 8 hour marathons?

I got fed up and just wasted a half hour of my life.
I had high hopes but they spiraled slowly downward as I mashed the same stupid key for 20 minutes on one level.

I hated getting a decent weapon then losing it because I couldnt dodge the crappy pick ups.

As the other kid said the boss shows no signs of dieing until it magically blows up.

Now onto the good.

The visuals/enemy deaths were nice.

Great but...

The second level NEVER ENDS! I have been playing for 45 mins (Don't ask i was bored) In fact I think I've become invincible, I have left it running while playing and i'm not dead or hurt.

does the stage end?

First and foremost, this was a great game. The weapons were great, and especially that since you kept getting refills on every new 'big' gun, you had no fear of using your treasured weapons.
However, to say the stages are long is an understatement. The first stage was kinda long, and the boss had an obsenly large amount of health, but that was okay.
However, when I played stage 'B', it ran so long I wondered if there was a glitch that made it not end. I played that stage about 15 full minutes before finally deciding to turn the game off.
Possible fixes:
Shorter stages
Less boss health
A meter to show either boss health, or distance to boss.
Auto fire (my index finger is still numb)

my finger hurts...

OK, loved the main idea of the game, conquering systems and choosing level from start is all cool, but damn... it's so repetitive! Maybe some new backgrounds, levels not so long, some animation in the back other than just stars rushing by...
Oh, and having to click on the shoot button for ever really hurts the fingers. At first I loved the old-school arcade feeling, but given how insanely long the levels are, it got really painful after half an hour of tiping S.
Weapons are solid, love 'em, and the leveling up system is cool too. just gotta work on variety over massive repetitive length.
