The second one sounds better, but only if it's by itself. I imagine that if you had a background or even a layered synth, the first one would probably be better.

Interesting concept.. I'll definitely try something like that once I get home. Maybe an arpeggiated synth but not affected by the sidechain

I would say the second part, sounds better. But that is just me. For some reason both parts remind me a little bit of the end of time song you made. :S Maybe it's just my failing ears. xD
