wow!

This is very very good. It obviously took a lot of work to make this, I think. The drawing is very good, the animation is certainly amongst the best on this portal. Stylistically it is quite realistic; the choice of black and white line drawings with red for blood was interesting. It highlighted the action in an understated way. Quite minimalist, bringing in elements only as needed. Storyboarding is very strong. Great perspective shot on the crowbar.

The story is your standard "Night of the Living Dead" zombie fare, but it is very well done. Starting with the car crash is inspirational to build up to the zombie twist, reminiscent of the beginning of the Romero film. Again, understated and good.

Sound and music was well chosen and utilized.

I am amazed that this would be your first submission. Traditional animators' style. As to weaknesses, really none -- this was very impressive. I might work a bit more on facial expressions, as people really focus on this and it is easy for them to become cartoonish if you're not careful. Also, consider varying your brushstroke touch for added nuance.

Thanks! It did take a lot of work, a lot more than it should have. While I was researching and learning as much as I could about Flash, I overlooked the one thing I could have used the most, the onionskin button. I also turned my back on optimization because I thought it looked tacky, but of course changed my mind about it after I was done with this animation and couldn't go back and optimize without redoing the entire thing.

I really appreciate the review. "Quite minimalist, bringing in elements only as needed" - that's exactly what I was going for. Glad you're a Romero fan, too.

Great start

I really liked this flash, the style was unique, it fit the genre you were depicting. The dead were animated nicely, and it kept the view in suspense althought it was short. I can't wait for more.

This is an amazing flash. The graphics are so simple, b ut you make it work. I congradulate you. I'm sure that everone will love this. Great work.

Hey, pretty good

Nice intro and set-up, only thing I would reccomend is adding some more sound to it, perhaps a slight creepy tone to set a mood...and I bit more "ompfh" on the squishy sounds, they were a bit lack luster, but I enjoyed this none the less!

I chose heavy and somewhat monotonous wind instead of music to create an eerie, unsettling and realistic mood. I wanted the viewer to feel like a witness of the event. I may add music to a sequel, depends if I find something that fits. Thanks!
