You know, I really liked it.

Wow, this is a nice breath of fresh air. The religious undertones were something that I could take into account and enjoy because I've heard similar music before. By the way, the guitar sounds like it has some Metallica-ish elements. It really worked for the introduction of the song. The vocals were impressive; steady, sufficiently emotional, and passionate whilst at the same time not too overbearing or whingy. Definitely keep working on the song, because I'd love to see it finished.

How about this?

Right before the last lick loops for the last time, break off into the "you will never catch the dragon" riff, use that as a new verse, and use your last "mary don't you listen" part as a chorus from then on out, and this whole song could just be the intro to a longer song.

I dunno, the break in the middle kinda rocked Chili Pepper Style..kinda caught my by surprise though...and I think your right. There's nowhere to go from there....hmmm
