i'd have to say not bad, but it is far from good
The original made me cry the first time i saw it, it was much more well put together, and as a remake, this didn't do it justice. Sure it was more detailed, but it mas just missing something that made it whole and worthwile that the original had. Love the song, love the story, love the original, cherish the thought.
Better than the last one...
I dunno...It was better in the sense that it looks like actual effort was put into this. Problem is...it also looked like you just traced the other guy's pics. Which....I would advise against.....
Still, I liked your changes to some of the different scenes and whatnot! The shading and detail was better too (and the movement)

Almost like the origional, but dipped in gooey, disgusting manga sauce. i had to literally scrape it of because it tasted so nasty.
And once i got to the delicious inner core, i found out to my horror that the manga marinade had rotted and corruped the plot! it was polluted with stereotypical manga archetypes! (Exaggerated eyes, muscles, weapons, blood) this means that terrible asian infuences have perverted the far from pure fields of American animation.
Great remake...
but that's all it is really. Your pictures are a lot more detailed and vibrant than those of the original, but then you've got an extra three years on the original. The animation here was just as weak as the original, I feel that if you'd spent more time on polishing this up and animating it more, it would have came out a lot better. As it is, it makes me wonder what the point of the remake was when it is 90% the same as the original...
