You got the looks. you've got that down...
But ill be damned if the original doesnt have more...i dont know. The original just feels better. You didnt do much to movement animations...(really just the arm going toward the sword), and ironically i liked the original mouth movements.
Remaking something doesnt nessecarily means your going to make it better... If this came first though, it'd gotten an 8 or 9 in my books.
Why improve on a good thing?
This reminds me of when they remade the movie ET and replaced the guns with walkie-talkies...
More Polished Than the Original But Not By Much
I get the sense that a lot of the art copies the awkward angles and poses of the original a bit too closely. It initially looks a little smoother due to the increased detail but doesn't really fix a lot of the problems with proportions and scale. While I appreciate the improvements in texture and shading (and the little glyphs on the sword are very neat) I don't feel this overhaul does as much as it could.
Nevertheless, it still captures the emotions of the first one - which was really highly-rated -I think- because it was so adept at bringing life to a narrative despite its simple artwork.
