A person seeking revenge is stopped...
Hello Maestro. A very good piece you have made here. I am impressed. Your passion and talent for this continues to grow to no end as far as I can see. Here's the story I decided to write for this. Enjoy. A group of warriors returns after seven long years of combat and war. They gather around their loved ones at the center of the village and begin to tell their tales of war. How some survived, how some died, and how some found what all find of the battlefield. Some find religion, some find rage, others find a sense of purpose. As for the warriors? They found a reason to have to return to and protect their village. One boy suddenly stand and asks in a worried tone, "Did my father...did he survive?" The group lower their heads slowly and then shake their heads. The boy is horrified and then asks in a furious tone as to who killed his father. The leader of the group tells him that the King of the opposing army was the one who murdered his father. The boy grits his teeth and storms out of the center only to be followed and stopped by the leader of the group.
"What are you planning to do?"
"I'm going to kill the bastard that murdered my father! That's what!"
"And what would you gain by that? Even if you did succeed in killing him your heart would be just as empty as it is now. The path of revenge is the path is the path of a fool. Don't throw away your life."
"How would you know anything about how I feel!?! My mother is already gone and now my father is too! You don't know a thing! Maybe if I killed someone, everyone who mattered to you, you would have an understanding of how I feel!"
"Hmm...an interesting theory. One that could be considered worth trying. However, you're a bit late to test it. Everyone that you're referring to has already been killed." The boys angry look is quickly replaced with look of shock mixed with sadness. He lowers his head and quickly sees the foolishness of his words. "That's right. You're not the only person on this planet that has lost someone precious to them. I wonder...how would your father look on you now if he saw you as you were...hmm." The boy nods and turns back from the way out of the village and walks slowly and solemnly back to the center to reflect his heart and find a true path. One that would make not only his mother, but his father proud of is life. Keep up the good work...
