Oh man, I remember playing this demo before buying the whole thing on Steam, since I was wondering if I should get the game or not... and HECK, talk about me ending up addicted to its roguelite loop, funky upgrades and underlying story!
In a sense, too, it got me inspired to pick up 3D modeling again after a long time... I just really enjoy how Andy's models would look super crusty and very retro-looking, and can say that pushed me to experiment some more, even if by small steps.
I can't go without talking about Milkypossum's OST work here either- my goodness, I don't think I've had earworms THIS hard-hitting in a long time... just fantastic work with all the synths, vibes and beats! I was even listening to a bunch of the tunes while working on some of my projects, they kept me going!
Lastly, I can say this had some pretty impressive coding work from you devs!! The boss battles feel like a spectacle, even if I didn't fully beat the game (I managed to go all the way to the third one so far, but I'm loving it). It's hard, punishing gameplay, but oh so satisfying. Even with frustrations here and there with not-so-good builds, it practically feels like you're evolving with the game, as it progresses further and deeper into the unknown.
And to wrap this up... maybe the only teensy bit of criticism I could give is a little thing I noticed when I was playing the full game - the pixels looked like they were in the wrong aspect ratio for my screen (1366x768px), so the edges were looking kinda rough. This also made the pixel font kinda deformed too. I might make a Steam discussion to address this, but I'll see.
But yeah, I just find this all very inspiring <3 And coming from indie artists too! You guys keep on rocking together and being creative!
