Thanks for the game.
I like it a lot. I like the cute look of everything. The tune is also a bit relaxing.
Remember: if you make a game in pixel art style, implement pixel-perfect collision and controls. If you don't have pixel-perfect collision system and controls, don't annoying the player by requiring pixel-perfect moves. That's a little f-r-u-s-t-r-a-t-i-n-g.
I failed level 3-5 about 10 times. I will try to beat that fucking final jump later.
Anyway, this is is a very good game. Just remember that for the next time. There are many ways to create actual challenge to a player ;)
Fun game... I guess the music is a bit inspired in Cave Story?
I love this game so much. The music is great and the gameplay is fun. It brings back a lot of memories of nintndo X3.
haha! this game was fun to play it! i thought it was funny how when you went to a new stage your house follows you everywhere! now that's companionship! or twilight zone... anyways, i didn't know how the monsters got there or how the girl is there, or any story! but i read down below saying there was a story but i guess i somehow skipped it! but over all the game was fun and i am going to guess the notes show up because your wife or girlfriend sang them and you have to follow them to find her! but i am not sure if that is correct! the axe swinging was funny because it looks like hes swinging it from his belly or armpit lol! anyways awesome game! and i enjoyed it!
check out my let's play!
There is an implied back story, but it seems to be missing an intro where the lumberjack's wife is stolen by an evil ghost. Why is your forest infested with monsters? Why do you have to fight a cat wizard and an ice dragon? Is Angry Jim in league with the evil ghost? And what happens to the ghost at the end? How come you don't have to fight it? Did killing the dragon kill the ghost somehow? Why is the forest safe now? Why are you able to go home happy? And if you had an airship the whole time, why didn't you use it to fly to your wife to begin with?
