Mardek Rpg: Chapter 1

IMPORTANT: This is a rather different version of Chapter 1!
The original was released in 2007, but this version was uploaded in 2010. It's basically a 'remake' in many ways, though the plot and events are generally the same.

Unfortunately, your saves from the old version won't work due to the drastic differences behind the scenes, but there are enough differences, I hope, to make replaying worthwhile. Any saves you make in this version can carry over to later chapters properly.

EDIT (21st of August 2010): Sorry, there'd been bugs with this version for a long time! It's because I fixed the bugs on Kongregate and updated the version there, but didn't do so here... Now I have though, so hopefully all problems will be fixed.

Oh, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure you have an appropriate Flash Player version! There's a screen at the start that warns you if your version is outdated. If this screen appears *at all*, then you may (probably will) experience some bizarre saving problems. Updating your Flash Player prevents them.

its pointless

i didnt like it because it is bad that u cant scroll down . i must have a bad server . but it was pointless that u cant get help because u cant scroll down

not worth it

the game is okay and entertaining for a while but then it get boring and bad.
and dont mix the style so much. have the moving part pixiliated and then the charactors not etc...

might just be me as some others seem to like it...

A generic RPG....

The sprites were terrible, no offense. Better sprites could be used.
The combat was random, slow, and boring. I think we have all played too many turn-based RPGs. The dungeon layout was also boring. Nothing interesting since most rooms were just empty. The humor falls flat to me. I didn't really find it funny.

Overall: 2 out of 5

Pseudolonewolf responds:

How can you call someone's creations terrible but not mean offence by it? Tsk.
I suppose I should've made the humour more about George Bush or something. Or maybe fart and sex jokes...
I also wonder if you quit before beating The Dragon... It's such a shame that so many people are being disappointed by their first impressions of the game and completely missing out on the rest...

"Wanted to make it challenging" is a bad excuse

Dragon wasn't hard... It was impossible!
He paralyzed the first character, so he couldn't take any action and he died. He paralyzed the second character so he couldn't take any actions and he died too.
Then when I was on the death screen it wouldn't let me go back to the main menu.
So yeah, turns out there is a difference between a challenge and impossible, who knew.

Pseudolonewolf responds:

Myes, the fact that I've beaten it hundreds of times without a problem is completely irrelevant; it's just unbeatable! The player's skill has NOTHING to do with it!!!

doesn't keep my attention for very long

not very fun, stupid humor, classic graphics are good, bad dialogue, also easy
