Hello!
I'm the creator of Darkspace Ambush, a unique sci-fi sliding block strategy game.
In the current version, developed for the Flash Forward game jam 2023, I used Midjourney AI bot for the graphics.
I'm looking for a talented artist to recreate the game art and enhance its overall style - someone who is capable of creating stunning and immersive graphics and is passionate about sci-fi, strategy and puzzle games. The goal is to give the game a more consistent, polished, and original look.
Responsibilities:
- Create high-quality 2D art assets on transparent background (cutscenes, map tiles and units).
- Strictly follow the provided asset pack in terms of dimensions so the assets could easily be updated.
Detailed Job overview:
- 5 in-game map tiles of spaceship walls (180x180px).
- 5 in-game units: player, enemy and 3 different moving blocks (192x192px).
- Two cutscenes (960x640px) with parallax consisting of 8 different sized layer pieces total: 2 central and 6 peripheral. Animations are already done (check game reference)
Budget:
- 250$ for 18 pieces of digital art total ^^
Asset Pack:

- You can check the live game for reference on how the assets are currently implemented in the game - the new assets should be an ideal match for the current parallax animations, therefore image dimensions should be kept the same not only for the tiles.
Graphics to Remain Unchanged:
- All user interface, game logo, enemy flame and explosion animations, in-game sky and other background tiles.
- As you can see below the style is somewhat cartoonish and should be accommodated within the new content. Examples:
