All I see on your page is audio. Unless you can prove that you can make something better in two days, I don't care what you have to say, soshut the fuck up and deal with it, shoe freak.

............... Wait what? So I apprently flamed him, huh? All I did was give him my thought on his so called walk cycle. Who was it that told me to show what I could do..........

he did not ask for your thoughts on it he simply showed his work after people kept bugging him about it when he said he was not finished
he said he was not finished and only had 2 days
have you ever made an animation?

He was polite at least.

And I only did that 'attack' because of that stupid noob comment. If I'm such a noob, shouldn't my walking cycle be forgivable?

derelex, I can defend myself, thank you.

I'm sorry, Adidaas, You're entitled to your opinion, but please try to be polite. It's hard to get good work done in two days, just so you know .

well if you're planning to be a sprite artist you should really be doing frame by frame or at the very least a mix of tweens and fbf. Plus you should be prepared to be doing many different angles unless you're only doing them for sidescrollers but you'll still need many different movements such as jumps and such.
these are like a few months old but were done in about a day and theyre for an adventure game i was doing with a friend. but they are a lot of different angles and stuff.
EXAMPLE!

there all shit.. =_= i thought you were gonna be better then this reading the thread..

Basically your lines are toowobbly the tweening does not look good, he doesnt have a realistic run.

I made this: http://spamtheweb.com/ul/upload/090408/8 3054_picolol.php

in less than an hour and its already better then yours.. sorry for the bluntness but if your gonna hire yourself out, give them something worth hiring for..

You should make them less bad. Better art and smoother animation would make them decent.

READ. It took two days, a few hours each. It was pretty bad, but I realise what I did wrong and I made this just awhile ago. I based the legs off of the sprite Dan Paladin made for SuperSoldier. Did I get it right this time? This is my last try for the Walking Cycle.

You should make a flash animation before handing out advice as if you know what you are talking about. Also, your suggestion is 'DO BETTER' you did not have any real advice at all.

Anything short of starting over wouldn't make it better so I think my critisism was fair.

There are plenty of tutorials on Animation:Main. Maybe some of those would help.

i know there was frame by frame in there , what i meant was to use no tweening at all and do it pure frame by frame.

I get it, make every goddamn frame different because it would look like shit if it used a animation technique that made it even slightly easier.

Look, I don't have hundreds of dollars to throw into books that will make me phenominal (most 15 year olds don't), and I don't think I'm quite ready for super fantastic fbf sprites that would look terrible because I made them with my shaky noob hand.

Dude, books dont make you phenominal, i have never read an animation book in my life. Practice and non lazyness makes you good. Just practice more make your own movies and what not to get to become "hireable"

P.s

Im also 15 :P

preston bliars cartoon animation is only eight dollars,

pure frame by frame aniamtion isnt that hard if you know even the basics, just seperate your characters into simple forms and build them up.

Really? When was the last time you tried that? Oh, that's right, NEVER!

I don't need to have great animation skills to tell the difference between good and bad.

Yeah, you're right. Forget this, I'm just gonna make movies over the summer.
