Either that or you could have children with any of the different sex and still come up with the same species of animal.
I would imagine 5 individuals with different sets of genitalia and possibly even different ways of reproducing

A better question is: how could there possibly be 5 different genders? What could there be besides a giver and a receiver? If anybody can answer that question, I would appreciate the enlightenment.

There can be a person inbetween both.
E.g. The sender can't directly put information into the reciever due to undevelopped chemical structures, therefor he gives it to the transfer person, who gives it to the real reciever.
That might be an explanation of three genders =)

It would work out because they would have evolved into somthing that works, else they would all be extinct.
