He has the right to have the game here, by all means, I would be fine with him leaving it up.
However, when he uses a tragedy to make a profit off of another website, that's when it's crossing the line.
The guy is not only trying to get attention, but he's also asking people to pay him, too.
For that reason alone, I say take it down.

I hate the flash and I want it taken off but my ideals say that any flash game that manages to get through voting it should stay. So keep it on...

Nah, just leave it in the bastards collection where it belongs. If Newgrounds starts caving in to the media censor whores now it will never be the same. You'd have to remove a large portion of the portal to not be hypocritical, 9/11 movies, steve irwin movies, even pico. etc etc.

I think the game should stay. Everyone is going to bitch about something and I knew someone who have balls was going to make a game based on that event. I know it was wrong, but I don't see people trying to take down "Save left-eye" game or anything about 9/11. I played this game and I laughed my ass off because PiGPEN had the balls to make it.

I've noticed a trend of the people who are saying keep it up also have never submitted any Flash to Newgrounds.

I want to put a different perspective on this whole thing for a second, and maybe some of you who actually submit Flash to Newgrounds will agree with me (you should, because it concerns you)

Let's be honest, Newgrounds doesn't get much press in the traditional media area. When was the last time Newgrounds was mentioned in a Newspaper or on PBS or what not? In my opinion, the majority of people right now who are seeing this stuff NEVER had an opinion of Newgrounds. Now all these people seeing these articles or media reports are going to link Newgrounds with "V-TECH Rampage" and hosting the Flash that mocked the v-tech tragedy.

This paragraph doesn't apply to those of you who don't submit Flash so you might as well not read it because it may shock you and be hard to understand. I think for some Flash developers there's something called "Newgrounds pride". When one of my entries gets front page on Newgrounds, I love telling my parents and friends. These people have no bad view of Newgrounds prior to this Flash. But NOW, if these people hear about it, I may think twice about telling them my Flash did well on Newgrounds. After all, what would it mean to them? My Flash did well on the site that had v-tech rampage?

Do any of you think this will negatively affect Newground's image? Also, don't give me the bologna that the bastards section has tons of Flash like this. You know what, it does! But what's the difference? These got no press or they never really had such a press following like this one does. But right now, there's no general negativity towards the image of Newgrounds. I don't think this is the stuff people come to Newgrounds for any more. That game would have been fun maybe 4 or 5 years ago because now the caliber of games are so far superior to v-tech rampage that no one would play it if it wasn't for its theme.

Anyway, my point is, with all this shit in the press, do you think it can hurt Newground's image? It's just something to think about.

Wow Fox. That really makes me think about it. I've used to be ashamed to show some people to newgrounds though because of the porn adds and the Mature section on the top (before the new bar was put in). But ya I think your right about it. (yet it may not be that major of a thing)

I've yet to see a "porn" ad on Newgrounds. Suggestive maybe, but not nearly porn. And most entertainment sites today have a mature section. Mature content clearly isn't the problem. That's not what's getting the press.

Either way you want to put it, I think getting your Flash featured on NG or whatever is a prestigious thing...

The thing I love about Newgrounds is how I can make a Flash that pisses everybody off, then people leave hilarious reviews, then me and my friends laugh about what the people say. I laugh uncontrollably when someone says "Go Die" or "If I find out where you live I'll Kill you", it's so much fun crossing the line :)

i dont think it should be taken down, but that doesnt mean the persons not an asshole. if its a joke, then i guess its too soon. not like that would ever be funny. but people get offended all the time, but you can never do anything about it. you cant sue, arrest, or force him at anything through your computer.

either way, offensive or not, asshole or not, its a well designed game. im gonna play it and see how it pans out. i already played it for 3 minutes and was appalled, but now ill try it again. who knows, it could actually be fun. there are thousands of games out there where you kill many people for a reason you dont know or care about.

This really pisses me off, if they don't like it, then DON'T PLAY IT. How fucking hard is it to do that? People are always criticizing other's work if it makes fun of a situation or turns something into a violent portrayal of something. (think Black X-Mas). People are always pissed about movies that are violent, bloody, and contain harsh language. If they are so goddamn pissed, don't watch it. Why is this concept so hard for people to understand? Especially hypocritical religious people, they are always complaining about things like V-Tech Rampage, Super Columbine RPG, and etc. I am fucking sick of it all.
