a lot niftier than 10000.% or 10,000% will look next update (I haven't decided yet which of those two ways to make your % appear to make it line up properly with all the other lines).

DANGER ZONE:

There's not too much danger for anyone right now, things are slow at the bottom despite a HUGE upturn in saves during the Christmas week, just check out the list stats for evidence of that.

Greg's Notes:

7 rankups this time, compared to 11 and 16 and 6 and 7 and 7 the last five times. 6 are on both lists, the other 1 is only on this list.

I made a bit of a judgement call here, so I wanted to clarify the other reasons for it:

when Herne first made this list (August 21st, about 4 months ago), he had 5129 points... whereas kevr1 had 7767 and was ranked #34 in saves.

when Herne was booted from this list (October 2nd, about 3 months ago), he had 5420 points (and was never idle... he always had more points at each update... slow and steady)... whereas kevr1 had 7777 and was ranked #39 in saves.

so now, we have Herne with 3170 saves and kevr1 with 3173, ranked #50, fallen to the edge of the list from way in the middle after months of incredibly slow atom-by-atom progress, basically. He's got 7787 points currently, meaning he got 20 points over the last 4 months (1/3 of a year) and only 10 points over the last 3 months (a full season, 1/4 of a year).

Meanwhile, Herne has come up to 6473 total points, effectively halving the distance between himself and kevr1 during the time he's been off the list, hovering behind the new people making it (such as FlameClock alias Emperor_Pilaf alias Piccolo_Daimoa alias Majin_MagnetMan, who knocked him off).

I find that to be a significant enough accomplishment, mostly able to happen without him getting back on this list or onto the blam list for the first time simply because he has a nearly true-neutral blam/save balance, and I'm not going to keep him off the list for who knows how long (could be a couple weeks till I update again) when he's 3 saves behind a person who's not really moving much at all, and will probably pass in a day or so, for that matter. So I spotted him the 3 saves. Woot.

Why the long explanation? It's fun to pointlessly justify things. But also... if kevr1 were to wake up or Herne was to stop getting points and kevr1 is still in front of (or overtaken) Herne next update, I'll have a major apology to write to kevr1. But my gut feeling is that I won't. #;-}>

beh, there's no real point in doing this, but I just realised a post in the other list thread refers back to this post that I just deleted from the top of this page (30) to make both list updates be at the tops of pages (30 and 18), which is an event that hardly ever happens, but was nearly perfectly aligned this time.

Well, firstly you're wedged in between people with around 10,000 points, and most of the people around there move upwards fairly steadily.

And secondly the update was only for a 5 day period. I usually update after 10 days or so, which gives everyone more of a chance to move ahead (or fall behind). Not much motion happens when I update after less than a week.

Oh, and regarding your BBS poster rank over on the top posters topic... you're a bit higher than 49, there's a few people right around 4400, between me at 4369 and you at 4440, so... maybe #45, 46, or 47, I'd guess. That's why I said I better get up to around 4444 before the next update, to make sure I'm firmly on the list.

The above was posted only 48 hours ago. It's not like I'm pulling a Dogma and disappearing for a month.

I said they'd be updated soon and I meant soon. Soon doesn't mean tomorrow. Tomorrow means tomorrow (IOW, I would have specified the day if I had meant it was going to be the next day or any specific day).

I'm going out of town tomorrow, in fact, so they definitely won't be done until at least tomorrow night or early the next morning, US time. Depends on whether NG is letting profiles be viewed without major errors, too. So there ya go, is that specific enough for ya?

hi. i don't know if what i'm about to say is something new or not, but since i've been here, more that 1 year, i never saw a small "savior movie" when I get a protection pt, like sometimes i see the "blam movie" when I get a blam pt.

Well, this point has been discussed many-a-time before. There would be a save movie, if someone actually made one good enough. Currently, there isn't one to the standards required by the admins, so until one is found, there won't be one.

as for the list updates, I know I said I'd probably do them tonight or early tomorrow morning, but it may be a bit further into tomorrow (like afternoon or something, if the server allows).
