Congrats to RyoHahn, not only for becoming the 2nd ever General (that's what those new #s behind the promotion congrats up there indicate, BTW, the person's rank at the time of promotion, estimated for people not on the top 50 combined b/p list, as you can never be sure there with profiles only updating rank once daily)...

anyway, not only for becoming the 2nd ever General, but for being the 2nd person to hit EVERY General rank, Brigadier General, Major General, Lieutenant General, and finally a 4-star General before anyone else could get to ANY of them. He may not be Ramagi, but he's close!

I finally made 13th on the top 50 list (while still remaining stuck at 9th on this list for the past month, it seems), and now I've hit the HUGE GAP REGION! First, there's about 900 between me and Bila. Nice density for awhile, but look past DrMSM, he's got a 2,500 gap between himself and Stormwarden, CHRIST. He, in turn, has about a 1,500 gap to Nemesis, and then of course there's the huge ~5000 gaps before and behind RyoHahn.

That 2,500 gap is the most amazing, to me, BTW. Surmounting that has got to be one of the greatest challenges left in the top 10. Good luck! My bet's on Crono being the first to do it, but we shall see.

In unrelated news, as many of you may have noticed, if you follow this sort of thing, humantarget failed to deposit either on the 6th or the 5th (not positive, but I think it was the 6th), and as a result, we all got a little break for one day on our exptonextlevels not going up. Also, this brings up the interesting possibility of a new #1 exp user. The gap is getting shorter and shorter up there. Used to be 80 points in the spring, then 70, now it's 60 points between him and Pimp. Just 6 days worth of exp. mmmm hmmm, I'll bet Pimp can taste it now.

That's impossible. The worst I can do is knock you down a few rankings. I doubt I'll be able to get in front of you by the end of summer anyways. I only gain about 1000 blam/protect points a month...

At #49 and #50, they're both Praporshchiks with low save/blam ratios (41.93% and 37.48% respectively), and lordfril is absolutely dead in the water. So, even though he's got about 30 more protects right now, nimmer actually has a better shot of evading the dishonor of being the next savior booted from the top 50 protects list. We shall see which one actually dips (and whether anyone will ever reenter the list after being booted... I believe it could happen).

Notes:

Speaking of being dead in the water, there are currently 10 of the top 50 users who are completely stuck at their totals. Whether away from NG like Drimarki or spancker, or .... who knows, like CTTcrew_l2edfoX, XwaynecoltX, b33r53x, Ppk3000, kevr1 (the above 5 and spancker are in a continuous line on the chart, BTW, aside from RageVI being behind CTT (FOR NOW)), Mike277, and again, lordfril.... either way, they are providing heaps of opportunities for fastclimbers like D0GMA, RageVI, stafffighter, steel_carbine, and the rest of you speedy mofos. In other news, FINALLY! If anyone saw the screenshots I posted a page or two back, you noticed that Ramagi's rank is in red, and RyoHahn's is in green. Well, finally there are two more green ranked people, as green = generals of any type in my excel file. fixit and TheJoe, you guys ROCK! Keep that competition going, please (that's mostly directed to TheJoe, who I hope will not stop fighting to rise on the save chart, at least, when fixit passes him on the combined b/p chart soon enough).

And finally, in the unrelated news section, it appears human_target forgot to deposit (or couldn't) yesterday, July 13th. lordfril and nimmer, who I named in the danger zone section last time. Sadly, they were already off the list weeks ago, and I didn't even know it! Oh well, the change is now reflected. Perhaps nimmer can make it back on, but I doubt lordfril will. He's too dead in the water.

DANGER ZONE:

This week, lightning and staffighter find themselves in the danger zone.

lightning because with the two new additions up higher on the list (and having been passed by the recently-off-the-combined-top50-list GSX_Boy by just TWO PROTECTS), he finds himself now 3 spots back from 46 down to 49, and he's on vacation till sometime in August. So... he'll probably be off the top 50 protects by the time he gets back. But he can make it back on.

Meanwhile, stafffighter had just jumped onto the list last update and now finds himself at #50 because of the two people I'd overlooked. He's fairly active, though, so I expect him to get above lightning soon.

Really, neither of them is in IMMEDIATE danger because there is DEFINITELY no one near them right now who is moving very fast. But lightning's absence makes him a major target.

er... not much to note this time. Only three rankups. Nice to have a Major again, I suppose. Good job, Crono. Keep on truckin' to Lt. Colonel. Bila beat me to Captain (as I figured he would), but I'll have him passed shortly after I get to Captain in a few days, methinks.

I used to have people's name's different than how they are in their profiles currently (i.e. I kept _altr_ as that even though he'd been b33r53x for awhile, I kept _shadow_ as that even though he'd been format for awhile), but now I keep names accurately. So unless you want to change your actual name to poxpower_retired, sorry. #;-}>

Besides, if I started keeping track of who was retired, it'd just be way too much effort. There are probably 10-15 people on my last update who hadn't gotten any points since the previous update, but some of them are just on vacation (lightning), some are temporarily retired (I assume Drimarki would like to come back, but his parents are still the thing not letting him, due to his grades), and some gave up on NG altogether (spancker, skum001, etc.)... still others are here, just as you are, but have given up on blams and saves (lordfril, who just left the list as a result, for example).

I'd have to have guidelines for what retired is, based on time, reason for them being away, etc. etc.

I just keep the save stats and rankings. I ain't gonna get into the rest of that. #;-}>

I used to scoff at such stats, but now that the portal has shifted so weirdly, I understand. There used to be times when there were tons of good protects to be had, and I suppose I was less jaded then, and more willing to give a chance to some movies.

Also, Wade's warnings in January about voting 0 and 1 were still fresh in a lot of fearful flash viewers' ears, so protects were easier to get...

now things have reverted to blam-happy times.

I'd estimate I only get about 20 blams to every 10 protects, so only about 2x as much currently, not 4x, but I'm still beginning to outpace. I hadn't had more blams than protects since January, and around 160 blams, 140 protects, for reference. #;-}>

Now I've got 6100 blams, 6069 protects... ah well. I guess blams will hit 7000 first. I just hope I can keep them somewhat near each other. But flash artists (and other voters) would have to both change right now, and unless Wade makes more threats, I doubt that will happen.

Alternatively, I could come on much less often (which usually means you miss out on blams that happen fast, and get a lot of protects on those movies that already have about 100 views, and you still manage to get a save off of 'em).

I sincerely doubt it, which is why I asked him what happened instead of jumping to that conclusion.

After looking at his posts, BTW, it seems they just ALL got cut off prior to a week ago. i.e. based on time, not content, subject, abusiveness, whatever.
