Mmmm, I'd bet you that the vast majority stuck the dashes and underscores in, because the one they have now was unavailable at the time. Thus rendering it UNoriginal, since more than one person thought of using it. ;P
The only part that i'm a little sad about is the deletion of NG user accounts. Even though they were inactive I would rather seem them marked inactive then deleted. I just hate to see 64k user accounts deleted ranging from before I even signed up to present year.
But it was for the best I guess, no way around it. They should have been active.
