Yes. Reading can distract one from the real world (as if were not enough aready) but with reading one can learn.
At the moment i'm reading "The Washing of the Spears: Rise and Fall of the Great Zulu Nation" by Donald R. Morris in preparation for a course i will be taking about the Anglo-Zulu War.
Some other books i've enjoyed is the Sharpe Series by Bernard Cornwall and the Hornblower Series by C.S. Forester.
It's not paedophilia if she's dead.

Discworld pwns all forever.
I actually just finished the first in the series today. :) Rincewind is just hilarious.
I'm currently reading "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell" by Tucker Max. :)
And I started "Genius" by Harold Bloom in June, and I need to get back to it soon. But there are so many books I still need to read. :P
And Ozcar, I should take pictures of my book collection, along with the several boxes of Babysitter Club/Babysitter Little Sister Club books and the numerous children's books I still have. :)
