HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014!
2103 is now in the books - it was an odd year, full of ups and downs but we all managed to get through somehow. Despite the fact that Newgrounds itself has slowed down a little, and had some issues this year, the Elite Guard stayed strong and helped them keep running smoothly. Yes, a few members fell away, but new ones joined. We are fortunate to have a few mods with us (like Coop, Asandir and others) and also some very active forum members (like Exedor, Jolly, DefTonesFan665 and GameJunkie) - all of which help us stay strong and keep Newgrounds a decent place to visit.
My resolution for 2014: Stop focusing on the negatives, and work on building up the positives. I'm not going to ignore the negatives - I'm just not going to dwell on them. I will take them for what they are, and instead of complaining about them, either find a solution, remove them from my life - or if neither of that works, learn to be serene and accept them. I want to become a better person through my actions, staying strong but fair, and always do the right thing. My grandfather told me something many years ago that is still true today: "Never do anything that you would be ashamed to see on the front page of a newspaper". Today, with the reality that anything we do can instantly become public and go world-wide viral in seconds, makes that saying all the more powerful. My mantra: "try not to be 'that asshole' in life."
I sincerely hope 2014 is a better year for all of us here, and we can keep up the positive growth we started last year.
