I think this is Great! My voting today alone went from 8.83 to 9.54 because of this Rating System!

Pretty much, although the higher you get, the more points you'll need to go up a rank. Just like an RPG game. :) So you go up quicker at first, slower at the end. With each rank you go up 2%, but at the end you go up a little more like 5% for the last 3 ranks.

this afternoon when I was on I had an increase of 2% and I just voted on a movie and I had 0%...how did I manage to go backwards?

Hey, I was thinkin, since Movies and Games are getting higher scores then usual, shouldn't you raise the bar to get a colorcoded title on the portal? And maybe they should lose color after 2 days or something, since none of the movies/games stand out anymore. Just a thought. . .

Question: Are percent ranks based on simply achiving a certain threshhold of points (like exp levels 1-9), or is it based on all NG users (like exp levels 10-30). Or is it a combonation of the two, like the entire exp level system now? Thank you.
These ranks are awesome. A few questions thoough: first, if you were to vote a 5 on a movie, but it didnt reach 100 votes till the next day, would you get the point or would you have to vote again? or would you get two points for two votes? Also, are you going to make a user ranks board (like there is for experience points) for blam/protection points?

It happened to me too. I think it was a mishap that citizens had 2% extra voting power. That's probably reserved for the next rank up.
