Don't get me wrong, I like the change. Just one question, Wouldn't it be possable to have two different scores? The first for the "Team effort" and the second for your personnal Blams?

Auras caused people to vote a certain way, just to get a dark aura. We'd rather they just select a dark aura rather than vote down good movies to get one. From now on Dark auras will represent someone's personality rather than their voting preferene. it also is taking load off our server, which is always a good thing.

Well no, not really. In some cases yes, people should watch the movies BEFORE they vote, because the movie might actually deserve a better score than it has. But for the most part, no. The efficiency of the portal has risen a lot now, I have to admit, with this new system, and forcing people to actually watch movies with like a .01 score would be rediculous. Some movies just plain suck, and being able to vote 0 without watching the movie is a whole lot easier.

OMG you are totally right. plus there are those movies that make 12000 windows pop up, that would force us to watch those (and then crash our computers) in order to blam it.

What are the diffrences bettween the auras?

I love that I can chose my aura but I stuck with same aura I had before the change which was light. And the new voting system is great. My blam points went from 19 to 30 in one day. and I blamed stuff that was crap anyway. NG kicks so much ass now.

Man it is easy to got blam points (if you know where to get them). Last night I got about 17 in 15 minutes (yes, I can do basic math...9-26=17...right?). I think we will be seeing blam points in the thousands in a couple weeks (maybe even tens of thousands for all those NG fans who have way to much time on their hands for their own good). I still am a little bit confused about protection points too.

I like the Aura selction thingy..Even though Im still light..And Thank You Wade for givin the BLAM and PROTECTION points a purpose.

Hey wade how long till you log in and stay like that. after I leave NG I have to re log in. How long till we log in once and it remebers the info so that we don't have to re log in.

I think it's prety cool that you can change your aura. Now people can make it so they get to choose haw they look as a voter.

If anything should be user selectable to free up queries, it should be favorite Flash films. That would also allow us to exprese our interests, not the database. Auras were great the way they were. take this into account.

As much as I'm going to love having a dark aura it does seem kind of silly to have them now that it isn't affected by voting... In the grand scheme of things I do agree that it's better to have accurate voting than proper reflections but is it worth even having them anymore?

No. Before MX/6 came out. People were still making Flash with Flash 4 even though Flash 5 was out. So now that Flash MX/6 is out. People will still be using 4 and 5.

And Wade, since you made the auras selectable. Why not make your Top 5 favorite movies in your profile selectable. The way you can do this is 1 of 2 ways.
1. On each portal movie's page have a link that they can click on and if they are logged in, it will add that movie to their list. This can be used if you see a new movie on the portal and want to do it real quick.
2. The second way, is for like people that are already members or just wanna do a complete remake of their list. And with this, they would copy the portal ID number and in a section in their log in page, there is a list of 5 spots and you put that number in. It would be cool. thxkbai.

i psnet a while getting my aura and my blam points and now all that effort is gone...ohhh well it probably wil make me vote honestly even though i hate it...mab i should vote 0 just to proove my point..... hmmm when is that whole point percentage coming in....plewase when it comes in be sure to make it so you don't get points for voting what everybody else does because then people will go 'this is 5 so if i want my percentage to stay up ill vote 5' when really its just a crappy movie and friends got it up to 5. that would suck!!!1111111 ANYWAY REPLY

If you look, the voting is going well. Most of the time if you vote fairly you will get a point. There maybe times where you vote what you feel is fair, but the masses don't agree with you and you won't get a point. That's just the breaks. Just vote what you think is fair and if you are an active voter you will surely gain a lot of points.

Hmmm i have a lot of isses with the new system...first the whole blam thing sucks coz i worked hard to get like 20 blams....second the aura coz i worked hard for that dark.....3rd and i havn't said this b4(said everything else) this new system will change the way people vote. you are always saying its gonna be more fair but when the top movie has a rank of 3.9 it might not be fair but its even. The classic newgrounds movie is a movie that gets say low 3's high 2's gets daily feature top 5 or weekly top 20 and then disapears...it was only voted on for a week and apart from the one in a billion chance of a random selection that movie's score will stay the same. Now movies are getting a higher voting since auras have changed and since this protection thing. so if a movie made a year ago its gonna get a lower rating than if it was submitted today..and when how good work is is measured on score shouldn't the playing field be even?????????

Solutions: uhh this one is not mine but im saying it anywa.... have a daily say 5 or 10 or 50 of complete random movies...they have to be old but not necesarily good..so then these movies votes can be brought up like the rest of the movies are.

Second and this is my idea...make everyone pick a topic for there movies..just one. and then the best 50 movies for each subject (have like 20 subjects) is listed in a seperate page..that way good movies don't just sit on your servers because they are not good enuff fr top 50.

I think the way movies get flushed is so bad and i often try and watch the mass amounts of movies that have the rating 3.7 there are so many each more amazing than the next but day after day they sit and do nothing except let newer movies go in front of them because of a new voting system.

What it will also do is it will make me not vote on movies that I know will get blammed but I like, so it will mean that I will stay on the website for longer.

Protection and Blam points are nice. But people started voting blindly on movies, just to get protection points! Take a look at the Portal! Lots of crapmovies with decent score!!!

Here is why:

Experience points can show how long and active you have been on NG. They not only take activity to accumulate, but time.

However if you have two people that each have 100 experience points, one could have gotten there by voting on 5 movies for 10 days and that's it, while someone else may have logged their 5 and then voted on 10 more each day. This person is doing more work than the other person to help filter NG, but he ends up with the same amount of EXP at the end of the day and nothing to show for it.

Now that person will be rewarded. So 1 person could have 100 exp. points and say 10 vote points, and the other person could have 100 exp points and have 1,000 vote points.

I don't want to add them to the Exp. points because why should someone who's been coming to NG for 3 years depositing everyday have someone who's only been coming a year that votes on more movies pass them? Experience points is more about showing how long you've been committed to the site.

The vote points will show how much you help to filter content.
