I miss the old Newgrounds. I remember watching this site develop into what it is now and I hate to say it, but I liked the old NG better. It seemed to have more of a direction. Killing celebrities, violent and sick cartoons. I loved that stuff. Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of the stuff on NG right now like Salad Fingers and Beebo but the old site gave me a better vibe. What do you guys think?

I don't pay attention to any of the stuff on NG i don 't like.

I've always just watched stuff like the Madness Series, Foamy, Beebo (what got me to join NG), Xiao Xiao and Legendary Frog.

I think you just have to accept that because the site grew in popularity it changed due to the vast amount of new users submitting different stuff.

old NG was good.
but new NG is also good.

yes, newgrounds used to be much cooler back in the day with flashes like street life. now it is full of 12 year old christian final fantasy lovers however :-D

yeah true i miss the sick twisted humour the old movies had. just mindless cruel and still fun. The new style is ok, but i really loved the violence :D

And the old Newgrounds Network was cool. Now, all those sites have disappeared.

There is no shortage of that on the portal today, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. As far as killing celebs, well...it could be that there's just quite a bit of that on other "Flash entertainment" sites....if there's someone you want to kill, then why don't YOU make a Flash that shows that?

not true. The late 90's layout is gone, along with my 56k modem that I used to view it with.

Well anyway, I'm basically saying that I miss the whole concept of the original NG which was poking fun at the media and celebs. I just can't stand those damn video game sprites and Final Fantasy tributes.

the old stuff is still here on newgrounds. the celebrity killing, yes that still here. its under games i believe.

I don't remember a whole lot about really old Newgrounds. I remember I came here every once a while a long time ago, when "Assasin" was one of the only things here. It was enjoyable.
Then around 2002 my friend tells me they've got a bunch of video game stuff there, so I went a few times and watched Mario parodies and such.
Then late 2003 I joined on an impulse.
Meh, I can't really judge what's better or worse. I enjoy it, it's a nice diversion, but I don't put a whole lot of thought into it.

yeah i remember street life , back when it just came out on the flash portal. it was awesome.

bah humbug! The good old days stink compared to what is on the website today. Did the old Newgrounds have an audio portal? No! Did the old newgrounds have a magazine? Extensive porn collection? Cool site layout? Cleaner advertisments? More intuitive experience system? Hell no!

The good old days of Newgrounds are right now. We're not going downhill, even if our intelligence might be. The only thing that was better back then was the BBS, when there were more smart people and less smartasses.
