hey guys
I had a dillema of whether to bring or not my laptop to classes, so I can kill time productively
so, the solution: Termux on a Android smartphone
you know, Android is Linux
and Termux is an app (downloaded at F-Droid store) that gives a shell to use the Android OS
and you get all the standard stuff. Android itself provides Bionic libc, POSIX threads and OpenMP. you can install clang compiler and it works, Makefile works, I edit text with Vim, and there are a couple of libraries available, such as check framework, sqlite3, emscripten, libuv and moar.
speaking of libuv, you can actually run it and get a working server on my smartphone, and use the mobile web browser to enter 127.0.0.1!!
overall, I'm very happy. typing is not as fast as with a physical keyboard, but Vim editor and its keybindings are really neat and work well in a smartphone! over the course of one class, I can get so much done.
I'm happy
