Had to resolve an issue this morning!
One of my artworks was being sold unofficially on a website called Printerval (JP) without my consent. Printerval is a third-party website where artists can submit their work to be pressed on merchandise. Print-on-demand, I'm assuming. Someone had removed the background from my art and put it up on the website for sale.
I contacted Printerval about this, informing them that I was the original author of the artwork and that under no circumstances is the artwork allowed for commercial use without my permission (as specified by the Legal Commons Deed that accompanies the submission on Newgrounds), and that if the product was not removed, I would take legal action. They were very professional, very responsive, and very quick-to-action.
Eventually, a few hours after our back-and-forth emails, *poof!* It was gone!
Luckily, according to Printerval, no one had bought this item. I asked them that, not expecting compensation (since trying to receive Yen at the moment seems like a headache), but because I wanted to know if anyone actually thought my work was worth buying.
I've never really had any big personal motivation for things like selling my artwork, let alone starting a company, God forbid. Nothing's ever really driven me in getting the go-ahead. But, if my reason for doing that is because someone else might try to beat me to it, then so be it!
But because other things demand my attention at this time, I'll have to put a pin in that for now.
Ironically enough, because of this incident, I told them that I will consider Printerval as an official distributor of my artworks in the future. Especially for the Japanese Market. (That is, if I don't do something like sell my work on my own website directly)
Still, that was the most of the spooks and scares I'll be getting today. lmao

To draw these I hooked up my laptop to my TV and displayed the reference images on there. I kept looking up at my TV and down at my sketchbook as I redrew the images I saw. I wasn't just copying the lines, I was also trying to reconstruct the shapes of the illustration I was copying and then drew the final lines of my sketch on top of that.
This is an artistic exercise which someone recommended to me and is a good way to recognize what is your style and what isn't. Any time I unconsciously drew something which wasn't there I had to erase.
This was very challenging but fun, and I am really looking forward to when I practice this again.
I might do it later actually, lol.
Here's a logo I created for a project at school. I couldn't use "dupreedraws" obviously, so I had to get a bit creative. I came up with a play-on-words for a different part of my name instead.
(Besides, the dupreedraws "logo", if you can call it that, is alot more basic than this. Hopefully that ought to change soon.)
The idea is that Northam Axis is a graphic design consulting company. Thus, we "point" you in the "right direction"--like a compass--leading you toward the most satisfactory design through our feedback.

Looks really good! It feels kind of nostalgic, harkening back to the 2000s or so when company logos were all shaded and hadn’t become super minimalistic yet.

That's an interesting observation! I hadn't thought about that myself, but I definitely see what you mean. Interestingly, the design can be simplified to the same degree that most logos are nowadays, but the thought of that didn't even occur to me until now.

Last night I also drew my character Kiki, with another person's character, Koko.
She's a character from a user by the name of @Shae on discord.
They're both purple monkeys (Koko's a gorilla, but close enough), have minimal clothing(?), and even their names are pretty similar, so I knew I had to draw them together eventually.
And yes, Kiki is fluent in PNGs of Bananas.
