Exercise Tips 2023-02-12 12:53:11

So, I decided to exercise! I want to hear tips and recommendations from people who exercise. I've seen enough YouTube videos, but I'm more interested in an unbiased, unsponsored tips from anyone who knows what they're doing. What should I take aside from food? I've heard a lot of people recommend multivitamins and whey, but am I missing anything? or is there any advice you guys can give me? I appreciate all the helpful tips!

I have a few tips

  1. Walking is better than running or jogging. True story. Hypocrites was the first to know this. Walking is the ultimate form of exercise.
  2. The best amount of time spent walking is three hours a day.
  3. Walk right before the sun sets, it's when the sun is the healthiest
  4. Drink a glass of water every time you pee. Make sure there's a quart of water in your body at all times.
  5. Sleep well before you exercise, a lack of sleep messes with your body. Eat before you exercise too.
  6. Fun fact, people lose weight faster when they're doing it with people they like

I'll post more, but I'll wait first to see if anyone else has any to add

I'm just one of those people still on the path of getting themselves out there in the world. If you're confused by my mug below you haven't read my profile. I point you to it.

I thought training to failure was bad for recovery

I tweaked my back doing deadlifts the other day. First time that's ever happened; I thought I was keeping my back straight and I had just deadlifted much heaver weights shortly before the injury. Be careful when doing deadlifts. I strongly recommend wearing the belt if you're performing this exercise. Now I have to lay low for like a week or so and see if I recover in that time.

Happily ETS'd.

Very sorry to hear that. I am actually trying to get my muscles moving before I start with heavy stuff like deadlifts, but thank you for the honest advice. Remember to rest well before doing deadlifts again, and start with lighter weight.

Also strengthen the area around your lower back (like upper-middle back, glutes, and abs) to help lessen the stress on your lower back. Good luck and wish you a speedy recovery.

Go slow with good form especially at first and just put the time in

Start small. I started riding my bike for 20ish minutes every day, then I incorporated push ups and sit ups 6 months later, now I've included a fair bit of stretching, and am going to be borrowing my mom's total gym.

For diet, cut out fast food, pop, chips, junk food, and replace them with fruit, veggies, and lean meats.

You don't have to do it all at once, in fact, I'd recommend you do one thing at a time, and once it's routine for you, incorporate something else. You also don't have to do it in one gigantic session. I do my cycling in the morning and the rest at night.

Also stay away from suppliments and shit, Mr. Juice Monkey's $50 protein bars will do nothing.

Run walk method is great for beginners if you want to build up distance running endurance.

It also puts less pressure on your body and mind.

For strength training, once you have mastered the basics of each movement, incorporating cheat reps at the last couple of reps every once in a while are ok.

Do exercises that are fun for you, there's nothing good in working out till you hurt yourself since you're trying to build a habit rather than just go one day and quit. I personally love doing cardio and can do it for hours, whether that's running, walking or biking. Find the exercises you enjoy doing and go do them as many times a week as you can. Also have goals, if you want to get bigger muscles then you'll be wanting to do more weighed exercises, if you want abs then you need to sweat the fat out and train your abs muscles. Be focused, be mindful, rest and most of all have fun.

Do a tour across the entire planet(or the majority of it) while on a bike, that's surely gonna make you lose your weight, and maybe sanity

multivitamins and eating properly to make sure you actually hit calorie counts. Actually filling your body with the proper fuel is kinda all you have to think about if you put hearty good stuff in the engine you'll get more out of it ya feel? Cooking your own meals to control what you eat is key too! Meal prep for the week and make everything on the weekend if you have time so you're consistent!

Depends on the goals, man. The first thing a trainer will ask you is why you’re here, because a workout for a bodybuilder is going to look very different compared to someone that wants to run 6 minute miles. Like what are you trying to do?

Gaining weight is still gains.

You can drink fryer grease as a beverage if you're strong enough.

Deep frying adds nutrients to every food.

Do cardio by travelling. If you walk/ride a bicycle until you are tired, you will be forced to go back home and double your gains.

Only one of these suggestions is real.

Get the heart rate up with cardio, but also take a look at circuit-style weight training so you can throw on some muscle. You’ll be crushing coconuts with your legs in no time 💪
