Finals? What else did I miss?

The first two rounds, of course! Anyway, exactly 24 people were accepted into this final round from the infamously harsh Knock-out Round, during which about 80% of the competitors get...well...knocked out!

And speaking of knocking out, the walls segmenting the 4 groups have been demolished. Everyone is against everyone else as we decide who makes the top 3 in the next 2 weeks. >:D

And how will you decide the top 3?

The remaining competitors have until Sunday, August 25th at 11:59 pm EDT to submit a completely new and original track to this thread. That means you couldn’t have started working on your track until right now, as per the rules. Otherwise, all of the rules that applied to last round regarding samples, timing, and originality also apply for this round.

I hear @Samulis’s hot air balloon envelope was Hello Kitty-themed. Is that true?

Yes, it is, but Samulis and the other judges (@Bosa, @Cheshyre, @EndKMusic, @Jacob, @Midimachine, @SplatterDash, and myself) still deserve your utmost respect and patience in the process of providing feedback on your submissions. If you have questions or concerns about the way a judge scored your piece, you can request a review or send a PM, but please do so in a polite, friendly, and non-accusatory manner.

Are you running out of ideas for these sub-headers?

Yes, I am, but I also want to give a HUGE shout-out to @Decky for volunteering his time to make forum signatures for the winners of the contest, and also to @NekoMika for making sure the winners get front-paged. 

Specific scores will be released momentarily. If you made it, congratulations and good luck in the Finals! If not, getting this far is still a big accomplish, and we sure hope to see you back next year. ^_^

Congrats to all that made it into the Final Round! I'll be updating my public score book tomorrow with the scores for everyone that I judged, but if you want a further breakdown please feel free to nicely PM me! While you wait, though, I eill mention that I was able to listen to most of the songs all the way through, and I was impressed with many of them. One person I judged even recieved a complete 10 from me, with a few others recieving a 9.5 (a couple of which being very close to getting a 10).

I was also extremely impressed with the quality of the submissions this round. If you're in the Underdogs, Pro Ams, or AAJs, you should be getting a thorough review from me within an hour or so. Please PM me with any questions!

Well, I was kinda waiting for that result aswell.. (my track was not the greatest work of mine) But it was nice to compete for the spot at the final round :D Good luck to everyone who survived!

Was super anxious waiting to see my scores, but overall I'm pretty happy with them (Although I had a good feeling I would be knocked out)! Some really great music got submitted so far, and I'm excited to see what comes next!

16th out of 42? At least an 8 from one of the judges?

I can live with this.

Considering all the things that could've been better (rhythm guitars lost in the mix when leads step in, sort of awkward vocal enunciations, plus a couple other nitpicks) I'm glad with what I got. Had I not started on the original turn in date I'd have probably ironed out those issues, or not, but it's alright for a sorta rush job.

I'll probably try to remix the fucking thing some other time.

I feel kind of dissapointed for not getting in the final round althoug i hoped it would happen because i would not have enough time to make a new song now that school already started for me.

And for the ones that did make it to the last round i wish you the best of luck.

Really enjoyed coming up with this song for the competition. Although didn't make it to finals this year, but I think I learned a few things here and there. Good luck on the rest of the competition.

Having been on the site for roughly 5-6 weeks, I feel very privileged to have made it this far. Excited to see what’s next! Thanks for all the kind words on my submission.

but the wierdest thing is. that even the guys who scored the most in the last round didnt get to the finals.

Well, didn´t made it through. I´m still really happy though that a lot of my favorite tracks and artists from this round did.

For the ones that didn´t made it: Take the critisism, improve your music and keep working. The more you work on it, the better you will get at it. We will see eachother next year at the very latest!

Welp, there's always the next year, right? I'm still happy with the results, though! This was my first NGUAC and the fact that I even made it to the 2nd round kinda surprised me, because I've been making music for only a single year. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, that I couldn't participate in the final round, because I'm currently on a vacation that I forgot to consider before entering this contest. Since I don't make music on a laptop, but on a PC, I wouldn't be able to compose a track before the end of the submission phase. Anyway, good luck to everyone who made it!

Holy shit I actually made it in! I didn't think Nebula would cut it, given how quickly I rushed it together. Guess I should get to actually flexing my production muscles now that I've got the proper time to make something! May the best musician win!
