I'm not sure because colehedges45 been offline for a long time and I also want to learn to write games so I would like to know how to do the two options

Video games are usually written as screenplays like movies. You will have to work on the setting, characters and dialogue. Usually the programmers tend to assist with this process but just know you will be responsible for writing the dialogue mostly, or perhaps the character backstories. Here are a few helpful articles:
