Alright! This is what's up.
I'm doing some research on how personality influences the creative process of music production. I would like to see how it may be reflected in the audio community...that's right, you guys! This is a thread, and an experiment that EVERYONE can participate in. :)
If you want to join in, all you have to do is take this very short, simple personality quiz which will determine your general personality type.
In my experience, this personality test (variant of the MBTI) is the best free test to take. There are 16 main types in total. Now...I would like to point out that personality 'types' are only generalizations. Every personality is completely unique, much like a song! All you have to do after learning your type is put it up right here. For instance, once you finish the test, you will get four letters that will ultimately describe your preferences. If you are an ESTJ...simply type that as your post!
After a certain amount of people participate, I will begin examining the statistics. I will then use your individual stats, or rather, your type, as a means of comparison to your music! I will look at the genres you produce in, how songs start and end, the sounds and instruments you use, the overall mood and motifs of your music, your composition style, etc. (essentially looking at the entire creative process)
So what's the point of this research you ask? It's simply twofold. First, it is research on how personality influences the creative process of music production. Second, I would like to reach out to the audio community in a way that allows me to understand everyone better. Perhaps it will allow others to understand each other too!
If you have any questions feel free to PM me...apologies for the super long post!
