Nostalgic Websites

Back in 4th grade, I remember finding XGen Studios and playing lots of their games (Motherload, Stick RPG, Defend Your Castle, Fishy, etc. Playing them makes me feel almost as if I'm traveling back in time.

Stickpage, Kiddonet, and Miniclip were a few more sites I remember back in the day. I would play Monkey Snowfight, Save the Sheriff, Crypt Raider/Acno's Energizer/Aqua Energizer, Demonic Defense 3, as well as a couple Cartoon Network games (Dexter's Labyrinth, Pharaoh Phobia, a Billy and Mandy dodgeball game, and a Kid's Next Door shooter).

I think the first website I ever went to was Javanoid. It happened to be the first game I ever played on the Internet too. It's a pity that I don't think that website even works anymore, as it simply leads me to some nonsensical page when I type in the address. Oh well, there's always archive.org.

I think this was actually the first website (besides Google probably) that really set off a bunch of memes. Before YouTube, you mostly hear about stuff from Ebaumsworld or SomethingAwful. While modern sites besides YouTube like YTMND and 4chan have more memes overall, I think we may have been the first website to really pop out stuff like that! I can't think of more than one meme that came from a different website than this!
