If you get in a car accident or somthing and you need blood the doctors will give you a blood test and find out your blood type and call for a match, you have nothing to worry about.

After posting here, i got curious, so i asked my folks
Apparently, im A positive, like my Dad. My mom is O negative though, which i though was kinda weird.
i know my blood type is B but i am not sure if it is B positive or negative. i guess it is a B+, just like most of my grades*.

Heh, I'm in the same position as you - I don't know my blood type and my parents don't bother to know my blood type, which drives me nuts. I mean, I know anyone can take Type O but c'mon, it's better if that was saved for an old woman being mauled on the street.

I honestly do not know my blood type. You'd think it would be something I would know. Then again, I really don't even care much about my blood, because I just think the idea of taking blood away from my body for whatever reason is absolutely disgusting. I'll probably never donate blood, but hey, at least I'm an organ donor! I figure that's good enough. It's kind of sad how I know more about my horoscope than my own blood.

I really really wanted to know mine. I found out at the blood bank and although it hasn't affected my life very much to have this information, it's a good conversation started at blood banks and is an interesting topic.
I have no clue, and do not plan on finding out unless necessary as I hate needles. Also, I don't weigh enough to give blood so never needed to figure it out for that reason.

I actually had no idea what my blood type was until I got to boot camp and they slapped it on our dog tags. I guess I'm an A positive, when I thought I was B positive my whole life.

O+ Group O is the group that can give blood to both blood group A or B because O doesn't have antigens. However, I can ONLY receive blood group O and NOT A nor B. Bummer, I know! Also, because Im a O positive, it means I have Rh antigens...so I can save people who are A+, B+, or O+ To.
