Well this club seems like fun :). I'm not what you'd call an "explorer" really but I do enjoy finding new places in my local area that are just a little more out of the way. To be honest with you this is usually so I can find a place to smoke in peace but I think it's as good an excuse as any.

One time I came across these steam pipes that run through a clearing in a wood near mine, this became a usual haunt of mine for quite some time especially in the summer months (picture below). I then took it upon myself to graffiti this place with the most humours stoner in-jokes that me and my friends could think of, which makes me sound like a complete dick but I'm not like that anymore, as this was some years ago now. They were good times.

As 'm sure many of you will point out this isn't quite what people were probably expecting of a post in the "Explorers & Adventurers Club" and I do embark on more traditional explorations in my area that I'm sure I'll bring up at some point here.

Anyway, happy adventuring.

It's nice to see some more photos and activity in this place. I reckon this has the potential to be a pretty interesting little club if we have enough people who like to go out wandering. I'm actually shocked we made it onto a second page given how slow things have been.

I was out walking my dog with my Dad and his dog for the first time, but we never went anywhere new. Just my usual route that takes about two hours to walk but it was a little more fun having someone with me. I never got any photos but my Dad made a few efforts to try and get some of our dogs hanging out in the long grass but I'm not sure how successful he was.

I'll leave a photo I took last year down below to show you where I want to venture to next with my dog. In the distance there's a hill with two peaks (well, it has three but you can't really see the other too well). They're a common place for walkers to go, but it has been years since I was last up there so it will make a nice change. I'll probably want to wait until I get a nice warm day though. Or at least a day where I can walk with just a t-shirt and not feel too cold.

I was also trying to get the location of some old crumbling castles and towers from my dad. There's a few fairly local to me, but sadly none of them are within walking distance. I'd need to drive if I wanted to check them out and I'm not insured, so can't.

I say that qualifies as a valid post for this place. Not so sure I like the sound of the vandalising of the pipes though :(

Today I found something that I consider to be really fucking cool. I went off route to go exploring in a little area of the woods that I could tell someone has been visiting as there was disturbance in the ground where they'd been walking. I knew this place existed but I'd never been to check it out before because it's a dead end that takes you down to the bottom of an old quarry type thing. I went for a look to see what I could find and as the picture below will show you, it's pretty cool.

I've been told stories of a homeless guy that we used to see walking around town lived in these woods. I thought it would have just been kids making stuff up, but this makes it a little more believable. I can't see anyone investing time to build something like this in the middle of nowhere unless they needed to. It's the perfect place for someone to say. It's sheltered being in the quarry, there's water just a few meters away and it's hidden. As you approach this thing, you can't even tell it's there. The side I took the photo of is the side you wouldn't see unless you walked around. From the other side, it just looks like a natural part of the landscape.

I'm guessing it has been abandoned because the inside doesn't look habitable any more. There's big rocks lying over the ground and stuff, so it wouldn't be comfortable at all. Wouldn't surprise me if some of the downhill bikers found it and tried to trash it. Unless of course it was them who made it, but judging by the build quality of the jumps they try to build in these woods, it wasn't them.

Anyway, I thought this was really cool. I'd like to find out why it's actually there, but that will be hard.

Lovely little club agwarn here guys :))

I wonder what all of you guys think about urban exploration? Specifically the group of people who climbed the Shard in london. It seems like something that's probably a lot of fun if you have the balls for it.

I finally got time to post my adventures here.
The first one I would like to share is my adventure in the middle of nowhere. Every once in a while my college makes surveys in several places, from big cities, villages and places like this; the thing is that you never know where are you gonna go, but the good thing is that you get paid for volunteering. I gave it a shot.
The place is called Agricultural Colony, yep, just as it sounds, the people there is extremely poor, but very noble and simple, through the day several people gave me fruit, cookies or drinks (these surveys are really a drag).

That's all for today.
P.S. The picture is pretty much the whole place, the houses are built across the hills

Wow, the picture is beautiful, everything there is just perfect (the landscape I mean). Seriously, it looks darn amazing

If what they are. If you find one. They will run away. So yes I would like to join the club, because I have a lot of adventure in the local towns and cities, every time I go there, it always surprised me.

I guess this doesn't really count as an adventure, but I'm posting it here anyway since it kinda is a little bit.
So I was out walking my dog, normally I take him around the park once and go home, but tonight we wandered around a bit more, walked around down by the river a little, but it was muddy as hell so we went back up into the grass.
He stopped to smell a bush for a minute, I didn't think anything of it cause he's a dog and dogs sniff things. Then he just stopped and stared into the bush for like 10 seconds. I said "What are you looking at?" but he didn't respond at all, normally he would look up at me or something but he just stared into the bush. He wasn't growling or anything so I just figured he was just being a retard. Then suddenly he turned and fucking ran as fast as he could.
I didn't see or hear anything in the bush but I guess he did. No idea what it was but he dragged me back home so I guess I'll never find out.

I'm no pedo, but I support adventures, and if they are super, then just keep em comin'.

Anyways, this is just a pic that I took while taking my dog for a walk, I decided to walk to the unknown instead of following the road, that's how I found this small place, the pic is pretty neat even though it was shot with a shity cell phone, it kinda resembles a swamp even though this place is mostly composed of forest/plains.

I like it. It's all green and nice looking. You should wander off the path more often because there's always cool stuff hiding away that you didn't know about.

I've not really been on any of the walk routes that I planned a few weeks back. I'd prefer to do it when it's t-shirt weather outside and we got a brief spell of really hot days but now it's back to just being regular old Scotland. Not particularly warm, not overly cold but you'd probably need a jacket on and for some reason I just don't enjoy going out walking as much like that.

Out for a walk in the woods and found a copy of GTA IV. My dog really wanted to play it.

I like all the photos in this club. i dont usually wander to these forums much. Being that i live in the city, most of my exploring is in a landscape full of concrete and buildings. Anyway, since we are full of concrete, when it snows here the steps of the art museum (the rocky steps) are used as a hill to sled down. It works better than you think.

I still think cities can be pretty interesting to look at, although I prefer seeing the less touristy areas. Photos of run down locations always seem interesting to me. There's just something nice about seeing the side of a city that the tourism industry would probably rather keep hidden. I've also seen people post some pretty cool images of the insides of abandoned buildings. It's strange how something so run down can be so nice to look at. For me, anyway.

I've been out walking each of the past few days. It has been perfect walking weather as far as I'm concerned. It's about 2 degrees Celsius outside but with a winter jacket it on, you're the right level of not too hot or not too cold. It's pretty great. I've been trying to take photos of some of the interesting things I come across.

In the photo below, you'll see three hills in the distance. Well, it's actually one hill with three peaks, but I've been wanting to walk up them for a while now. I've done it in the past but that was many years ago. Unfortunately it's a bit of a trek from my house so I'd probably be better off waiting until there's some warmer weather. I know I just said the current weather seems perfect but I think warmer weather would suit it better.

Great idea for a club!

Here's a little shot of me taking a break in northern Ontario from some trekking. I originally took this shot for a Nokia contest, which was about taking a picture of your shoes. I didn't win.

Hey there folks. Remember that meteor shower a couple of days/a few weeks back? Well, during the night that huge ass meteor hit Russia, this thing came crashing out of the sky, and hit a small farmstead here in Maryland at about 2:00am.
I staked out off in the distance, (I'd seen WAY TOO MANY sci-fi movies to be dumb enough to go near it).
An hour or so later, I see black vehicles pull up and quarantine the crash site.
I go back the next day to check up on it with a few friends, and nothing is there!
Dafuq?
Anywho, this is a picture of whatever it was as it came crashing down. This photo has not been doctored in any way, shape or form. I was originally trying to get a pic. of the Sideways tornadoes up in the sky.
Make of this photo what you will, as I've no idea what it actually was.

This is an awesome club by the way!

Took this while eating breakfast in Canada. It's one of those crazy Vortex clouds. The funnel connecting the top cloud to the bottom, is said to be full of highly condensed lightning!

I tend to take a lot of non-doctored, cool looking cloud photos, so I'll start posting some here. :)

This one I referred to as "Apolo's Charriot".

I found Bambi. Must have been stood about 10 meters in front of us and my dog had no idea that the deer was there.

You don't have to have been climbing the Alps or exploring the Amazon Rainforest to post in here. Exploring your local area or embarking on a journey to a new city qualifies as an adventure in my eyes and it can quite often be interesting. Even walks through the local woodland areas quite often turn up some interesting discoveries or areas that you have never seen before.

So whether you love the hustle and bustle of the city or the peace and quiet of the great outdoors, please, share your stories, findings and images here.

Well, it's not so much grand, but I remember this one broken down house when I was fourteen. I remember climbing a truck, and from there, having to jump on the roof and get in through the second floor window. I looked inside, and it gave a "Family murdered + hobo probably still squatting in here" vibe. I left. The next time I went over, I went with two other friends. We found a porno mag in the backyard and we just sat and scanned these fuckin' pieces of paper with complete precision. We went inside and explored a little more. This was like a time capsule from the 70's, hell, maybe even the 50's. It reeked of "The perfect family living in the perfect dream-like world." This place was fucking spooks 24/7. The last time I went over there was with one friend (One of the two who went with me last time), and we decided to go downstairs.

The downstairs was way too scary. Cobwebs, rubble, and complete darkness. We thought we heard someone down there, so we went back upstairs. We were already scared, so we were kinda just scanning the upstairs nervously, and my friend pointed at the wall. "Dude, is that blood?" It wasn't blood, anyone could tell, but we were already pretty scared so we booked it.

Now, none of that is honestly really "Creepy", but this one small little thing is something that has stuck with me to this day. I was walking by the house, not even paying much attention to it. I heard something, a ringing. Sounded like an old phone with the classic high-pitched ring. I looked over, and low-and-be-fucking-hold, it's coming from the house. Fuck that shit man, I never went near that place again. Probably just my mind playing tricks on me, but that ring coming from the house legit Frightened me.

Fuck broken down old houses with possible knife wielding serial killers living in them.
