The Manchester meet is currently the only Luis-christened meet for 2012. Arranging a summer meet would be tricky since the London Olympics are going to take place, making it either incredibly expensive or virtually impossible to book a hotel. Basically anything outside of Manchester that year will have to be arranged by someone willing to organise one.

There's a chance London may return in 2013, but that's down to Luis. You could also shop around for certain events where Newgrounders may thrive (for example, the MCM Expo which Eddsworld and Tomska tend to frequent.)

Talking of announcing this early to give everyone time to make plans, someone ought to get in touch with the guy at that gaming bar and let him know we're going to be descending on the place again.

i spoke to him a few days ago, he was pumped for it. As the date nears I'm gonna see if we can just shut the whole place down for just newgrounds people if i see that the roster is going to be large.

Hope it turns out well, if I could make it I would, but it's just to expensive.

There are a few ways of keeping costs down, such as looking into the Megabus service which is considerably cheaper than the train, and seeing if there's any Newgrounders willing to split a room with you.

Luis, you appear to have forgotten to put a Commander Shepard image here. I shall have to fix your mistake.

I must admit, it fits in there like a glove.

I'll see you bitches in Manchester, armed with my camera and ready to capture some more delicious, hilarious...

I might be coming. Most likely just the Friday and Saturday though, simply for an excuse to get drunk.

Dean brought this to my attention and this is a definite maybe...

It really does depend on my plans for January, it's just too early to tell you know, but assuming that I'm still driving, and have a job I shall definitely be turning up.

If anyone lives in like Sheffield I can probably give you a lift there and back and my route would take me through there.

Found rooms for the Friday and Saturday night that would only cost me £60 for the weekend, or £30 if I were to split with someone which will probably be the intention again. Shame it's way too early for me to make the most of this price and snatch a room.

Still, if they have prices like that a little closer to the actual date I will be a very happy man indeed.

I'm actually quite keen about going to this. Just moved from Australia to Norwich and am quite keen to go to a real meet up.

Where is Manchester? Up north? Would it just be better to go to the London meet?... whenever that is.

OH GOD, I DON'T KNOW.

Just read London was cancelled due to Olympics...

How easy is it to move around Norwich? I drive, but can't be fucked gassing it all the way to Manchester. Apparently you can get a coach/train anywhere in this country, so would that be a good option?

GETTING IN EARLY, OH DICKS YEAH.

Hmm. I just looked up the Megabus site and they don't have buses that run from Norwich to Manchester, so you'd probably have to find some other way or another bus service, but I'm not too sure which others exist for long distance travel.

You could probably get a train or something I expect, but I have no idea.

Last Manchester meet I went I took a train to Birmingham and got a Megabus from there. Simples.
There's some variation as to when they'll actually show up, mind. (Mine was a good half hour or more late) Shouldn't matter much if you're attending one of the non-Saturday days.

That's as maybe, but you're SOL if you think you'd be able to take that option and have it get you there in any haste. The problem you have is that you're going to have to traverse from the South East to the North West and there are no direct train lines for any of that stuff. Coaches, I don't know about.

Your best bet is to drive... the routes I've looked at predict it to take about 4 hours 30, but depending on your luck with the traffic and how fast you drive, I think you could probably break the 4 hour mark. I've driven from Norwich to where I live in under 3 hours before, and from there, it's only another hour to Manchester. Again, depends on traffic.

You just can't get enough of my suave Mancunian ways can you luis! Count me in, I'll book the weekend off work. If anybody is in desperate need of a place to crash on the night then you're more than welcome to stay in my spare room, I've just moved out to a place that's only 5 minutes on a train from the centre of town.

It's called Kyoto Bar, it's a pretty perfect set up for our sort of crowd - boom

Read Fim's link and have a look through the older Manchester meet thread. We try and treat every place we go to with some respect and the Karaoke bar in London has gotten to know Luis over the years.

The guy who runs the bar in Manchester is an NG fan anyway and posted in the older thread (and despite by his own admission being grumpy to start with (I didn't notice it)), pretty much gave us the run of the place when we were there. I'm looking forward to going back to that place.

There are several games consoles and there's a room with maybe 20 computers in it all hooked up to play WoW or something as nerdy that I don't involve myself with. You can get some decent food there as well, but more importantly, they serve booze. Gaming + beer... win.
