I think that was BORAMIR my friend. He is the brother of PARAMIR. The Steward of GONDOR is their Father. The one who denied The Return of the King!

Season 1 was zombie season? It seemed to me as much zombie season as dragon season. The white walkers made one real appearance. Winter hasn't even come yet. I think.

Was referring to the AMC series The Walking Dead actually. Season 2 of theirs just ended a couple weeks ago.

But true, from what I remember of the books there are a surprising amount of zombies for a story about medieval shit and the occasional dragon. Also SOMEONE FUCKING FIND THE NEW EPISODE ONLINE SOMEWHERE! kthx

So, they had Joffrey kill the bastards, rather than Cersei.

That's out of character for both of them. I didn't mind the changes to the name day tournament or the condensing of the events on Dragonstone (although I was disappointed to see so little of Cressen, but that bugged me. Also more Arya would have been nice, but I suppose they did stick her first chapter or two onto the end of season 1 instead.

Speaking of Arya, I wonder if they're going to go somewhere with Cersei being so desperate to find her. She never seemed as bothered in the books, seemingly giving her up for dead. What was up with her scene with Littlefinger, too?

I enjoyed seeing more of Robb. He was always the highlight of Catelyn chapters, and seeing more of him since you're no longer reliant on POV characters should be great.

Hopefully next week we'll get Slynt and Tyrion's conversation as well as the Gold Cloaks catching up with Yoren's band. More Davos would also be good, Liam Cunningham seems to be nailing it if this week is anything to go by.

Episode 2 has leaked online.

It would be very illegal for you to pirate it, but I hear if you travel to Denmark or Poland you can watch it on HBO GO already.

Stop. Just stop.

Nobody cares that you read the books and for some reason think you know how the characters should act. Joffrey is a fucking idiot, that much was made obviously clear when he killed Ned in season 1. It's not out of character for him to want to slaughter a bunch of kids his dad fathered with other women.

If this was a perfect rendition of the books, instead of being "based on Song of Fire and Ice," it'd be "A word-for-word, exact rendition of the novel a Song of Fire and Ice."

What was up with her scene with Littlefinger, too?

Admittedly stupid. When he said knowledge is power and then she threw her men on him, it made no sense, because she basically let him live because she needed his knowledge. And Tommy Carcetti must have been doing coke or something, because he can't act anymore and his mustache is all fucked up. I don't like Littlefinger anymore.

That said, episode 1 was pretty meh. Which isn't really surprising, since I absolutely hated the first episode of the first season, and I almost wrote the show off as garbage after watching it. Just gotta see if it gets better. Hopefully no more dumb scenes like with Littlefinger.

Finally got a hold of the episode. Good stuff. So far am quite happy with the new characters appearances.

Joffrey thinks he's indestructible and doesn't take ruling seriously at all, he just wants to fuck about and abuse his power for fun. Cersei is paranoid and insanely protective of her son. Who seems more likely to kill off Robert's bastards?

Yes, but it's been an extremely close adaptation so far. There's been many omissions, but few large changes such as this.

I've seen some theories that he was acting stupid because he knew that kid was there, and that he was one of Varys' spies, so he's trying to Varys false intel or something. Probably still more likely that he just lost his cool when the Queen mocked his house and Catelyn.

Uploaded the Season 2 intro

Some notable differences besides the slight alteration in music would be the addition of Pyke and Dragonstone which is pretty cool. There was nothing wrong with the old intro but I like the changes nonetheless.

Thoughts?

They did the same thing in season 1, with the locations I mean. Added the Twins and the Eyrie and such in episodes that featured them. Expect the likes of Vaes Tolorro, Qarth and the Fist of the First Men to turn up later.

It's a fantastic credits sequence. Doing a map is inspired, makes figuring out where everyone is in relation to each other much easier.

Pretty much the best part of the new episode.

By the way, anyone else already seen the second episode? Covered a lot of good stuff like with Theon Greyjoy returning to Pyke and Arya talking to some of the people heading to the wall. Hope that was vague enough for those of you not wanting spoilers.

There are a decent amount of sex scenes in the books but yeah there are extra ones. You can thank HBO for that.

HBO seems to have gotten it into their head that because they CAN show sex, they have to.

It's terrible. They do the same in the likes of Boardwalk Empire and The Pacific.

There's some shows were sex scenes work. The sex scenes in Deadwood were always either relevant to the plot, or a time for Al to deliver a monologue. As such they didn't stand out. In Game of Thrones it feels like there's a division between the sex scenes and the actual show. Like, "Here's 2 minutes of some lesbian fucking, we'll get back to Game of Thrones in a moment".

That Littlefinger bit in the first season was the worst example. Excruciatingly long scene of two women fucking while Baelish explains the plot to the camera for audience members too stupid to understand what's going on.

Adding extra sex scenes while cutting other content is inexcusable too. Who cares if Jojen and Meera aren't around, or if Ramsay Bolton has been cut? We've got extra Ros scenes instead!

I don't like the new music. The Season 1 theme felt heavier, more dramatic - "winter is coming," as it were. The higher pitch in the new one just doesn't have that same effect; it sounds more like a theme for springtime.

New locations are always nice to see, though.

Thank god, I tried humming along with it in my head and thought I was getting it wrong because I hadn't noticed they'd changed it.

The show's as great as ever, my only complaint is that I expected the season premier to be longer, but that's just me being spoiled. I can't help but wonder though, I thought everything beyond the wall was just a cluster of white walkers and bandits and shit, so why's the one guy just chilling out there with all his wife daughters? Or is it still safe for a few miles or something?

In the second episode of season 2, actually. It's never directly stated in the books, but his very heavily implied. This is harder to do on TV, so they just show it.

You should be able to work it out from the first episode, actually. Rewatch the conversation between Jon, Sam and Dolorous Edd about Craster's daughters.

How are people who haven't read the books finding Davos?

They've hardly touched on his backstory, so I was wondering if anyone who has only seen the show has a good idea who he is and how he's related to Stannis. The two people I know who watch the show didn't seem to understand how they're connected.

Are they just thick, or is the show getting it across poorly?

At first I actually thought he was the leader of the Night's Watch because it introduced him by transitioning from their camp to the big fire ceremony thing, but it got obvious I was wrong after Stannis showed up. But I don't have a great idea of who he is yet. All that's been established is that he really admires Stannis and feels like he owes him for everything that's good in his and his son's lives, and that they probably went to war together a few times while Davos' son was growing up.

Anyways about the actual episode, i'm happy to see that they ended with what was either Slenderman or a White Walker, probably the latter. We haven't seen any since the pilot, and something tells me as long as they're floating around we're gonna see some action before long.

I really wish they'd chill with the graphic sex scenes though. Like, i'm watching this with my dad and suddenly Theon is boning some chick, and then immediately after we go to Littlefinger's hoes doing the sideways charleston with some guys. I mean, we've all come to expect it, but it's still pretty excessive.

Davos, the onion knight.

Hobbies include sailing, offering advice to his king and adding bugles (the chips) on his nubs to scare the young children.

Speaking of which, are we still in the first book? I started reading the whole series but never got past where Jory got killed and Ned got captured because of school related reasons, and now I have no clue where we're even at. And if we're still in the first book and the show intends to cover all of them, this is gonna be one long show.

Don't hold your breath. They're not actually in A Clash of Kings at all, the babies being given to them is implied, not seen.

The first series covered the entirety of the first book, and a tiny bit of Arya and Jon's stuff from the second. The plan is to go 1 season for A Game of Thrones, one season for A Clash of Kings, and then if it gets renewed again, 2 seasons for A Storm of Swords. I haven't heard anything about what they plan to do beyond that.

Yes, it is. The quality of the show doesn't go down by a single in season two. Also notable: the intro seems to be going faster than the ones in season one.

So, HBO picked it up for a 3rd season.

I'm excited. The end of the second book is such a cocktease, I'd have hated for the show to end there.

SPOILERS BELOW THIS POINT

I'm wondering where they'll choose to split A Storm of Swords. The Red Wedding seems an obvious point, but that may be a bit too late in the story for an even split. The actual midpoint of the book is around Jon escaping the Wildings to warn Castle Black and Dany attacking Yunkai, neither of which are really finale material. Arya being captured by the Hound is around here too, which could work I guess.

I'm not sure what would make a better ending for season 4, either. There's basically two choices, either Littlefinger and Lyssa in the Eyrie (the "Only Cat" scene), or the Lady Stoneheart reveal.

GRRM confirmed he's writing an episode for season 3, just like he did for seasons 1 and 2. Episode 7, working title "Autumn Storms". Title is a too vague to predict what he's adapting, though. Apparently Jojen makes some reference to autumn storms when they shelter in the tower at Queenscrown (where Jon escapes the Wildlings), so it could be that, or it might just refer to the actual autumn storms that drench the Riverlands, as seen in many of Arya's chapters.

Also, I watched the trailer for next week's episode. Glad to see they got the best line in the book in there. "They are the knights of summer, and winter is coming.âEU Michelle Fairley might be one of my favourite actresses in the show. Never a fan of Catelyn chapters in the books, but I really enjoy her scenes.

See, I think you can. You just need something that can serve as a cliffhanger you can use as the final scene. The rest doesn't really matter. If you look at the season 1 finale, most characters have already had their previous arcs end. Arya, Jon and Tyrion begin new parts of their stories, Bran and Sansa doesn't do much of anything, and only Dany and Robb have real "finale" moments.
