I've actually really turned off of RWJ, simply because its the same jokes rehashed over and over and over and over again. Like, he's been making the same epic face joke since I started watching him back a year or so ago. The videos are usually ok, but that's pretty much it for me :/
As for actually answering the question, this one is hard.

Because even though he's not mega beast at COD, he's funny as fuck in the commentaries.
I think it takes a particular sense of humour to 'get' it. Fortunatly, I find the same things funny as he does, in the whole eccentric British "Your, sir!" kind of way.
Plus, he used to make some fun minecraft videos.

Really? He was OK, but now he's just lazy. AVGN jumped the shark about a year ago ( Maybe less than a year ago).
As for my favorite youtuber... probably Mangaminx or IAmTheCarnage. They're both LPers.

How is he Lazy? He puts on a better show than any reviewer out there, not just the mindless cursing but whenever he goes as far as beating the shit out of Bugs Bunny. And if you're calling him Lazy because he's not uploading videos as frequently, he explained it's because he's writing a movie, that and he's busy with Cinemassacre.

Sorry, I meant that it feels like James himself got bored with the AVGN character. And lately it is just the words "shit, FUUUCK, what a piece of shit, that looks like a dildo" on a loop followed with images of shit. I do enjoy watching Cinemassacre very much though.
