Seriously? Why?? Jesus. Must have been down years for good movies to come out. They had to pick something, I guess.
Titanic and Shakespeare In Love both won Best Picture. Shakespeare in Love even beat out Saving Private Ryan. Bullshit.

If this post was made after September 12th it makes me more of a liar.

You can't really compare those. They were both nominated for different categories.

The dark knight. We all know he only got that Oscar because he died.

arguably pixar's worst feature, monsters inc
Not as bad as Cars.
Nothing is as bad as Cars.

Slumdog Millionaire, it was an alright movie but everyone made it sound like it was the greatest movie ever made.

Because it is a brilliant movie.

to be honest, i really didn't care for Avatar.
Inglorious Basterds. That movie was so bad.

That movie won an Oscar?

Not the movie itself. Christoph Waltz won for his supporting role as Han Landa which, even if you didn't like the movie altogether, would be pretty fucking hard to argue against.
Also to Wegra, could you stop being such a fucking awful poster? This is one of your more bearable threads, but you introduced it in that profoundly moronic way that's been your trademark.
Happy with what you have to be happy with
you have to be happy with what you have
to be happy with you have to be happy with what you have
I don't really have a movie
But Alan Arkin robbed Eddie Murphy
Oh there's a whole bunch of them, but it really depends on the category.
For best picture the first one i can remember is Crash. That movie was shitty and didnt even deserved to be nominated.
On best visual effects I find it offensive that The Golden Compass won over Transformers. That's just stupid.
Or Sean Penn over Mickey Rourke...

Oh please, Sean Penn is an incredible actor. Mickey Rourke is just some washed up drug dealer that used to have a pretty face perfect for hollywood.
He was pretty good in The Wrestler though, but not as good as Sean Penn in Milk or 21 Grams.
CAREFREE WHEREVER I MAY BE
I'd be here all night if I didn't limit myself to Best Picture, so with that in mind...damn near all of them, really. But the worst recent examples would be Titanic, Shakespeare in Love, and Crash. Also, I can easily name at least five movies from 2008 that were better than Slumdog Millionaire, and not a single fucking one of them was even nominated for Best Picture.
Honestly, I've lost all faith in the Oscars' legitimacy. If they're struggling so bad to find 10 good movies that they nominate The Blind Side for Best Picture, then they don't know what a good movie is.
Since tonights the oscars I got one.
Extremely Loud and Incredibly close. 2 hours of some annoying unlikeable snot being weird and annoying.

My ass actually fell asleep while I was watching the movie, it was so goddamn long.
