Can anyone give me as close a translation of boy in greek to english.
What I mean is a kind of adaptation of the greek text into something readable in english.
It's for a story.

That's what I got, the only problem is I don't know how to go about pronouncing it
It might just be A-yo-pee
Or it could be something altogether different.
Better late than never I suppose.....

pais is the (ancient) Greek for "boy", or child.
Where we get "pederasty" or "pedophile" from.
Pi, alpha, iota, sigma. Nominative form.

Never heard of it.
Do you mean agora?
alpha, gamma, omicron, pi, alpha?
agori isn't any form I've ever seen, bu that doesn't necessarily say anything.

Greek is pronounced exactly as it's spelled....but there aren't "y"s in (ancient) Greek.
I'm guessing it's a lower case gamma, which kinda looks like a "y" in English.
in which case, it'd be pronounced agor-A, (agora) or agor-EE (agori).
Accent on the ultima.
Where did you guys find "boy" as agori?

This is true ^. But I think the word 'pais' can also mean servant boy, or something along those lines.
Pedophilia was huge in the days of the roman/greek empire, before its coalition with the catholic church; it was especially popular with boys, not so much with girls - O_O
Funny how the catholic church, in those days, abolished pedophilia, and today their bringing it back! Ha!
