I hit level 10, no achievement. Curious and upset, after that round ends I leave the game and connect to a different game. When it loads up it shows that all of my progress in multiplayer was wiped. No unlocks, stock weapons, no specialties.

Jesus. I'm trying really hard to like this game but it's making it very fucking hard.

Looks like I'm done with Bad Company 2 now. So I'll probably be at 750/1000 forever unless I want to do some of the achievements unrelated to unlocks ("Careful Guidance" and not much else) I'm sure as hell not putting another 9 hours into this glitched P.O.S. just to get back what they took from me.

I haven't tried actually playing a game since my last post (I'm not sure if the servers are even 'fixed' yet) but at least the "My Stats" page is still showing all my proper awards and guns and specializations. Maybe it was a false alarm, a hiccup along with the servers timing out and all that jazz earlier today. I'm signing into multiplayer as I type this just to check. (It seems to be fine.)

Oh, I also tried inviting you to a squad earlier through the meta tag. It seems you had just stepped away from your 360 because you shortly went "away" right afterwards, but I'll probably try it again later when the servers are properly working.

So after finishing The Godfather I decided to get started on Mass Effect 2. About fucking time considering it's been out for a good 6 weeks and Mass Effect was my favorite game of 2007. I played for about 3 hours but didn't get very far because between 1/2 and 2/3 of that time was spent reading all the codex entries. I knew most of that stuff from playing Mass Effect to death but what the hell? I paid top dollar for this game and I'm going to get as much out of it as I can. Except now I have to go to bed because it's after 4am and my eyes wish they were closed. I'll be back on it by midday though.

So I've got a day before my rental on BF:BC2 ends, which also means I've got a day to get about a dozen demolish kills. Not a well thought out "achievement" since it's pretty much "Kill 20 people by accident." Team kills even get classified as 'destruction 2.0' but I'm not sure if they count towards the person's progress or not.

I know I've gotten a demolish kill on white pass for shooting a dude who immediately afterward ran off the map. I'm thinking that'd be easy to exploit if it wasn't just a fluke, but unfortunately the squad and invite system isn't set up in a way to make it easy to orchestrate these kinds of things.

That makes me wish for a free-for-all kind of mode, but I can see why that'd be a bad idea considering medics = screwed, engineers = i has a tank, recon = ubiquitous dickheads, assault = bullets everywhere.

MAYBE in squad death match if you had 5 friends the odd man out could be the one to shoot 3 dudes and have them run off of the cliff like lemmings over and over (saving one for a respawn point). Then repeat the process later for the others if they need it. Only potential problem there is if the fifth friend gets a random team mate and he decides to spawn on said friend and screw up the process. (If that problem becomes a reality it could be fixed by keeping a friendly medic on the other team alive and away from the boosting for a quick fix.)

The alternative for me is to play another 20 hours of rush mode and hope that there's a lot of people who like to climb towers and/or stay in buildings even while they're being blown to hell by artillery. But unless I can get that achievement quick (before I go to sleep) I can live with an incomplete 985/1,000.

If you aren't good, you won't get any of the online at all, and a lot of the non-online require a fair amount of work.

You can get maybe 245-60 from it if you're super bad.

Well, tonight my 360 got an E68, then later on got the dreaded E74 error. Not sure what to do now, I might get a PS3 but I dunno. The place I bought it from has closed down (Circuit City), will I still be able to send it to Microsoft to get it fixed or what?

Yeah, they cover that under the extended warranty as well. If it's been more than 3 years since you purchased it it might cost you depending on your customer service person.
