Going over to my friend's house soon, and he happens to understand basketball so I'll get my last two NBA 2K6 achievements.

Got a fun little achievement from Saints Row 2 yesterday.
Hello 47 - Kill all Hitman targets. +10G.

One of my friends went on a mad boosting session playing 8 different games and I helped him out with a couple of them, conveniently getting a few achievements for myself at the same time. Played Test Drive Unlimited and Condemned 2, both games which I was very close to the 1000/1000 to start with and have been wanting to finish for a long time. Considering I spent ages writing a guide for Condemned 2 I always thought I should really have the full 1000G.
It seems that after a year I have seriously lost my touch at Test Drive (the handling is so different from Forza) but I was really reminded of how much fun the multiplayer on Condemned 2 is. How many games let you run around an abandoned doll factory wearing a pig mask smacking a guy wearing a clown mask over the head with a dirty toilet seat. Genius. Modern Warfare 2 can go fuck itself as far as I'm concerned. And I was very surprised to see how many people are still playing Condemned 2. We had no trouble filling up a room, even for ranked matches, and we had to keep kicking randoms to make room for people.
I will make sure to play Condemned 2 multiplayer more often, it's way to fun to just never play again.

I should make myself go back through that game on hard, I just got tired out of it. It's just sitting there over on my shelf last I checked, I hadn't even considered playing it until now. Beside that all I need is SKX and Serial Killer. I was playing the game very close to release and hardly anybody beside boosters had Serial Killer. If you happen to know some Serial Killers, I'd appreciate a heads up. :)

I think I'm only about 100-200 ish kills off of Serial Killer myself in MP, so maybe I could be of assistance to somebody else if I'm able to bring myself to get Serial Killer.

My friend is still trying to get Serial Killer, I think he's 200-300 kills away and I said I'd play some deathmatch with him sometime in the next few days. Send me a friend request and we can include you as well. You shouldn't have too much trouble getting SKX now either; there were quite a few people playing today and some of them had Serial Killer. Worst case scenario you can get +1 from me.

I'm not proud of it but I really wanted those last couple of achievements and I wouldn't have any chance of getting them otherwise.
Boosting is kinda a touchy subject for me. I see it as a terrible way to get achievements but as a last resort I guess it's somewhat acceptable. I can count the number of games I've boosted on one hand and they were all games where the multiplayer was totally dead.
You guys are quick to judge but I imagine that with gamerscores of nearly 70000 and nearly 80000 you're not completely innocent.

So have I. Only the gun camos in CoD4 though. I have nothing wrong with people boosting for achievements and stuff, but I don't like it when people boost for a Tactical Nuke. The Nuke is game ending, and you earn more than XP for using it - you get special emblems and stuff. The Gold camo was really only a sign of boosting anyway, so why not get it in the same manner as about 99% of people? Boosting for achievements is a good thing, but only in old / dead games, such as The Outfit and Medal of Honor: Airborne. Nobody plays them online, so nobody complains when you boost online.

BOOSTERS!
boostin'

I like how Dobio jumped at the opportunity to whine about boosting, but not even two pages ago Jonas mentioned Prey boosting. I haven't even done it yet, and probably wont because my estimates were way off and would rather not spend the time to kill 600 more people. But if I talk about it, it's suddenly taboo. Double standards ITT.

You need to realize that it's certainly a dead game; I tried setting up a deathmatch yesterday and just left the room run for 60 minutes on my other monitor just waiting for anybody to join in hopes of working up SKX. Well, nobody joined, so there's no chance of killing anybody with Serial Killer that way. SKX is just a viral "Kill 9 people with X achievement" but when a game's community dies it becomes exponentially harder to get and nearly impossible to do without some intentional 'boosting.' I doubt there's even 9 players who would still care to play after finishing up the multiplayer achievements, and I don't really blame them.

Beside that, the only people with lobbies up were 2/8 and were new to the game, probably trying to boost everything with another friend. Now even if I were to invite any friends and play legitimately with them for a mindless amount of time just killing each other back and forth to get Serial Killer you wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyhow.

GUYSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

My Xbox is fucked. Utterly and completely. So I now have two options; keep our current HDD, and go split the cost of an Arcade with my brother. Or, go buy a completely brand new with a bigger HDD and possibly a sweet deal on games or something.

What should I do?

Speaking of sweet deals....

The plan is to trade in a bunch of games to get it a bit cheaper. I was thinking, maybe Jonas can help me out seeing as he works at a game place, that I would trade in LEGO Batman to get some sweet cash off it, then get it back as part of the bundle. Would that be allowed?

That looks like a pretty sweet deal, I say go for it. There's a few things that may be useful if you don't already know:

Any of the games you get with the console and trade back in will be treated as second hand. Even though you only just bought them and they're still sealed the store can't buy them off you as new. If you want to trade in Lego Batman you might as well give them your old copy and take the brand new one for yourself. With any of the new games you're better off selling them on ebay because you can sell them as brand new games, not trade them in for a pitiful second hand price.

One problem with getting an elite with a new hard-drive is that you need to transfer all your data from your old one onto it. To do this you will need a transfer kit, which won't come with the new console. You can ring Microsoft and they will send you one for free but you will have to give them the serial number of the new elite as proof.
After transferring the data you can also trade in your old HD to EB Games and get money off something else.

EB Games have a card that gives you an extra 10% to anything you trade in and gives you 10% off any second hand stuff you buy. It costs 10 bucks and lasts for a year so is probably well worth getting if you're planning on trading lots of stuff in

ive boosted

I am fairly confused how you make to comparison between something that can take days if not longer in the case of some games, even while boosting versus game saving which not only instantly breaks open the pointals with any work at all but also directly violates microsoft's ToS completely. Something that boosting doesn't come close to doing. Let's be fairly honest about this, if achievements weren't present in a game boosting wouldn't be even be discussed as it is about the same level as me helping a buddy get through a game on a difficulty he could'nt tackle alone. That's right co-op game play could be considered boosting if you wanna rub those brain cells together and think about, hell so could using a strategy guide or the internet. However comparing it to gamesaving is like comparing Springtime for Hitler to the actual Holocaust. Not only is it ignorant, it's ignoring basic facts like HOW GAMESAVES DO NOT REQUIRE YOU TO PLAY THE GAME.

Christ, sometimes you kids are a fucking pile of idiots.

But I still would be glad to help boost any of you.

Since you may need that extra cushion to reach your peas and carrots. Eat em up so you grow up into huger faggots.
