Perfect Storm

Two badass crazy energy powered ladies, with a taste for violence. They wield sharp weapons and even sharper ego's. These girls won't give you a second chance to re-think dumping them, trust me.

We didn't really give them individual names though did we? Meh. Mines on the left, Nouggie's is on the right, and I threw together the sloppy filter raped background and text.

Props to Nougat for a GREAT idea, color scheme, title, and artistry. I had a lot of fun with this round, and I hope you all did too!

4 Hours left, then voting begins! I'm thinking we should hold off on Doubles 10 as well, there are plenty of great threads going on to join up in, and if we take a break it will probably bring in a larger/newer crowd when its up again. Probably a month or so. If you are totally against this lemme know, because I have no problem hosting it for you guys/gals, I just think it might be time for a snooze.

Hey if we had the time I'm sure we could of made something spectacular but you did what you could with the time alotted and I think it still looks great.

Actually there were some communication problems in our team and I hadn't enough time. I finished my part a few minutes ago but I couldn't reach ashman, I have no idea if he's done, maybe he even never started working because he waited for my part :(

It would be really nice if I could have another morning (european time) to try reaching ashman or finish it on my own. If you start voting tomorrow afternoon it would be finished till then.
Otherwise you would miss: fire! explosions, destruction and great conversations like:

1) Manray and The Dirty Bubble - Although it wasn't original characters, I thought it was beautifully executed and brought me back to my younger days
2) Betty Boufant - Only you girls could pull off the hero/villian story about heroic hairdoos, I love it ladies
3) To Blam and Protect - Nothing says "you've been blammed" like a sledgehammer to the skull

You knew how to capture that real comic-booky superheroe look. You went for the dvd-box look, and executed it very well, it looks just real.
The characters could have been more similar, atm it looks like madam dread got less detail then Betty.
You could also have made the characters more super-y if you know what I mean. Right now they (especially betty) dont really exhibit any supernatural powers...
2-Team Idiot-kow/Nemonarch with Manray and the Dirty Bubble
Artistically debatably the best this run. But, however admirable they are, they arent original characters... Besides that, the general composition could be way more super... right now they arent really supervillains as much as general villains....
Manrays left arm and hand are anatomically incorrect (both his upper and lower arm should be longer... His little finger seems bend in a weird way), besides that he seems a bit fat.
Coloring is very nice, the shading on manrays left hand is a bit off, as well as on his beltbuckle/pants.
As I said, its a great piece of art, just a shame you didnt go for original characters
3-Team Awesome-nougat/Henrysaurus with Perfect storm
the comic book cover... they seem like the out of the box superheroines...
The biggest problem would be that they dont really seems to be super... they just seem to be ordinary vigilantes with weird swords/daggers...
some more usefull advice:
The styles of the two girls dont really seem to match... they both wear jeans, but they are shaded worlds apart. The sword of the left one seems a bit awkwardly angled as well as way too big.
The right leg of the girl on the right seems to be disjointed and thin at the hip. In general those legs seem a bit hurried.
The torso of the girl on the right seems to be to big compared to the legs, the head seems to be to small.

as for the rest:

Laughed everywhere i could, along with some areas i rather wouldn't laugh in. I'm proud of you, especially as you killed photoshop with your immense speed. Just sad to hear about FlashyGregory though, a real shame.

I THINK YOU'RE ASH, MAN! (Kreu-Zeng version):
The Character I like especially. It fits perfectly with the background, and it's good work. I also like the one with Ashman's character, although the jagged lines on ashman's one kinda throws it, so I chose Kreu's one. Good work, looking forward to your Doubles 10 entry (If you take part!).
And for a "BLAMMIFICAL" 1 point, Zero-M and jb-J, with TO BLAM AND PROTECT:
The Characters, Like Zung-Kreu's, are really nice, and the "Blam and protect" Logo rounds it all off. The enemies are nice and strong, albeit being a bit too closely coloured to the background, especially with the one on the left. Overall, though, a very nice piece of work. Well done.

Congratulations to all the otjer entries for getting yours in, unlike myself and angryglacier. I'll try my best in #10, though!

+ you can really see them cooperate ans a superhero duo
+ great composition with the heroes in the center surrounded by their enemies
- too little contrast between background and left enemy
- too clean/straight horizon

2) Betty Bouffrant:
+ nice, original concept. could be some 70s comic
+ great shading/highlighting, I love Betty's hair
+ very clean stlye
+/- the background, it's not bad but something doesn't feel right

3) Pop Princedd and The Soloist:
+ funny concept
+ cartoonish look fits the superhero theme
+ color and background contrast between the 2
- the purple gloves don't fit into the contrast

Okay, throwing in my 2 cents before voting is over:

1 - To Blam and Protect - J-qb made some phenomenal line work, really creating a great atmosphere and setting, and M-Vero's coloring gave it an impressive super-hero feel to it. I love the glowing force field, the premise and idea behind it, and depth given to the piece by the close up bird. Well done guys!

2 - Betty Bouffant - The Rise of Madam Dread - ReNaeNae and Temariix really came together well with this one. The idea of hair-doo based characters is quirky and fun, I bet some other bad guys would have had some nasty beards or something! Nae's linework and character is just as clean as ever, and Tem's evil character really makes for a creepy baddy, and is also done very well. I really like how the Betty is done in red, and Madam dread is dark green, great complimentary colors to add to the difference between them! Sweet deal ladies!

3 - Manray and The Dirty Bubble idiot-monarch provided a great setup and goofily awesome characters, while Nekow's coloring is brilliant like always. They just look SO evil, I can almost hear the maniacal laughter going on. I really like the light source coming from Bikini Bottom too, makes it kinda spooky

Zanroth and Knocturne - I like the perspective you were going for, but I think it could have focused on the characters a bit more. I also don't really know what is going on with the huge black side-bar. The coloring is good, I really like how the sky was done, and the decrepit feeling of the building.

Crypto-Deadcorpse - Pretty cool style how they are drawn out, I just think the coloring could have been a bit more dynamic than 2 shades of each color. The zombie-esque feel of it is nice, although I don't really know if it is "super-hero" like. The crazy eyes really freak me out too, creepy! :p

Mecha Boobs - Freakin' hilarious! I laughed pretty hard the first time I saw this, I really wish you and Flashy could have gotten together on this, I bet it would have been epic! The idea behind it is sheer genius, and I salute you for following through in light of your partner having potential rabies (you're in our thoughts Gregory)

Pop- Princess and the Soloist - The idea is cool, and I really enjoy the perspective of the characters, and how cleanly they were drawn out. Good colors and character designs as well. I really want one of those flaming guitars!

I Think You're Ash, Man - Props to Kreu-Zung for getting this done, and even ashman for making something in time. Cool concept with the fire starters, but It would have been nice to have some more differences between the characters. The coloring is pretty well done too, very smooth looking, almost like a clay figure, I would love to see more stuff colored and shaded like that!
