Just noticed a problem with flashes under judgement. When you click on "View this Movie", the vote buttons instantly appear and activate insead of waiting for the flash to fully load.

I just jumped onto the "Post a Reply" button, so I don't know if this has just been mentioned... sorry.

yea i noticed a lot less errors...hahah i was surfing newgrounds the other day a refreshed for 2 minutes and errors were popping up all over the place haha well im glad you fixed some partial errors

I've had several in the past few minutes. :-( They are BBS errors though, not Portal errors. I wasn't sure if this topic was discussing both or just the Portal.

Thanks for the switchover, liljim. I noticed it changed within 4 hours of the templist being defeated. Glad you were able to switch it to the new system so quickly so we didn't have too many movies going back under judgement (the main one I noticed was Mani Golf getting protected twice (yay, two "you're the savior!" screens #;-}>), but I know there were a few others).

150 seems too late, because a new movie that has a score under 1.00 at 100 votes isn't very likely to get over 1.6 by the time it gets to 200 votes. 100, 150, and 200 seem more realistic, but thats just me

We'd already discussed this a couple months ago, when it switched to 150 and we were anticipating the change to 200 and what it would bring... while 100/150/200 is certainly more intuitive than 150/175/200, and while you have a point that movies heading for a blam at 100 votes aren't likely to pull up by 150...

there ARE some movies that will be given a fairer chance by having the first blam mark at 150 votes.

So it's good for flash authors that way, which is the whole point of this new system, always has been since September.

And it's also good for portal watchers, as more people will get blams, not just protects. Most blams come from the first checkpoint, and thus 150 people will share in most blams instead of just 100.

Still not 200 like protects and close-call blams, but better than only half the people getting them.

So, rejoice one and all... there's more blams and protects to go around... a fairer judgement process for all the movies...

and most importantly to me, there's MORE TIME to catch those blams if you aren't checking the portal every 5 minutes. That's the icing on the cake, and why I was pushing so hard to get the templist gone a few months ago. This new system has made all those 10s of thousands of votes worthwhile, that's for sure.

Yeah, I'm usually online at that time, though I do live on the west coast of North America. I'm a night hawk.

As for errors, I'm getting them as regularly as always. Haven't tried in the daytime yet.

W00t thank god they have stopped, ive not been coming here as often as i like because of the errors they were drining me more than slightly crazy. Not a single error today so far, good work Jim.

I'll take evening/night to mean 10:28 *PM*, not AM, and that would be 4:28 PM on the east coast. And yes, there are indeed a lot of Americans online at 4:28 PM. That's during NG's most busy hours. 3 PM to 10 PM, give or take a bit on either end, so around 9 PM to 4 AM your time, I guess.

i've still gotten a few errors but its not as bad.also, when i put the pointer over a user name in the flash portal it says the author is new but when i go to the submission page the user has flashes in his account.

Thank god the Newgrounds bug crisis is dying down. This screenshot from yesterday depicts the huge bug thats behind this.

I've been having some errors the past few days...Right after I post it says that BBS is down, which goes on for about 5 mins (Yes, I know it won't let you POST but about that often, but it won't even let me view other people's posts during that period) , then lets me go into BBS again, and I'm having trouble viewing people's profiles, mine especially, it keeps saying "Internal Server Error - please go back and try again. I don't know whether that's because there's been some recent "monkeying around" with accounts and people screwing around with the servers, or if I am running IE 6 & Xp like someone said in a previous post. If anyone can help, please do!

i have one problem on new flash it say i have already voted on new flashes but i havent it says soming like you or some one with same ip has voted on this submission... or who no it may be AOL is sux but i only seem to have this problem with dail up internet on my labtop but my desktop with cable modem it works fine

Anyways, same here, go to look at any entry, and though the entry is there, says it cannot find it or DNS Error. And the topper, I can still vote on it, though it supposedly does not exist. Ah, well, sure you guys will have it corrected soon.

i have had this same problem i though it was just AOL but i talk to other that use other internet services and they said they having the same problem

Nah, it isn;t just AOL, I don't even USE AOL...especially to view the goodies on here! Cablemodem or DSL is the way to go ;) (I'm an AOL member, so don't think I don't like AOL ;)) In any case it's not an AOL related screwup.
