But, what gets me the most is how someone who contributed to the portal can hate the idea of getting stuff for his work. I like getting free crap whenever I can. What an asshole! Dosn't he realise (s)he realise that they don't need to click on those links? We've all had to suffer the annoying ads. I get stuff about onling casinos, and my 11 year old brother gets porn spam, but these ads are one of the few "life support" systems keeping NG alive.

I'm pretty sure it calculates an impression based on a page view of the popup, not just a hit. That means it has to actually load. If it blocks the popup, or closes it, either way it doesn't get the chance to fully load, meaning there was not an impression.
My view is: if you use a site such and Newgrounds a lot, and you block the popups, you're just being a freeloader. Take one for the team.

Most pop-up blockers let the window open, then close again. But blockers like the Google Toolbar blocker, tell the browser to ignore the javascript that makes the pop-up. Pop-up blockers that let it open and close again, make it hard to view stuff on the portal, because it closes any thing that pops-up. Google and others, only get rid of the script that creates the automatic pop-up. Therefore, more people will get blockers like google, and the pop-up scheme will create less revenue. (I think that's how it works anyway.) If what i'm saying is right, Tom may eventually have to either add more banners :( , or start charging for Gold Accounts :( , (<hint>or come up with his own, amazingly brilliant idea to create more revenue</hint>).
