It seems to me that everyone loves to bully Sony. Take for instance, Killzone 2:
Killzone 2 has proven that bias indeed exists. GamesRadars constant pre-reviews are an example. They gushed over Gears 2, yet when it came to Killzone 2, suddenly the microscopes came out and a different set of lenses were used to look at the game. One of Ripten's writers had a meltdown over Killzone 2. There was a site comparing Killzone 2 to Crysis, and used images that were from Far Cry instead of Killzone 2. On n4g every single day there are people scouring the internet for negative KZ2 news.
Alot has been staked on this game. Many, many fanboys irrationally believe that the 360 is the only console for shooters, and the ps3 cannot possibly have a game this good. So many journalists were certain that this game would not look like the target render, and when the game surpassed the target render, they were left crapping themselves wondering how they were going to bring yet another ps3 exclusive down.
Sure, biased sites like Edge and Variety will occasionally throw out the 10/10 for at least one ps3 exclusive, but that is the exception, not the rule. Ps3 exclusives have always been graded with extreme scrutiny, because Sony isn't allowed to hype their own products.
If you believe that there are no agendas in this industry, you are living under a rock. If the Gamespot incident doesn't show you that money pollutes gaming journalism, then you probably believe that Microsoft will make Windows 7 available for free. There have been so many instances of shady journalism, from GameTrailers using the wrong footage/settings to make ps3 games look bad, to Eurogamer constantly comparing ps3/360 multiplats, of which they know 70% lead on the 360, to IGN giving Killzone 2's graphics a 9.5 and then changing Gears 2 graphics from a 10 to a 9.5, and on and on.
Why the hell does Sony just sit back and not do anything about it?
