Finally putting something new out after being torpedoed for a good few months.

"Cor" is essentially the recurring archetype sort of name for a recurring character of mine. His most common regular name is Emil, but Cor is basically the "tag" I use to group all his incarnations. (I also have "Megrez," a character who has similarly forked a whole bunch of different ways under the same name.) In general, whenever Cor appears, he's a young man who likes to play the piano and has some kind of connection to/affinity for the stars.

When making this song, I originally started out with the theme of "Space Church" and wanted to blend chiptune, choral, and organ elements together. However, when I added the synthy drums it took on a more modern twist, and then I just decided to make it Cor's "new" theme and throw in the piano for symbolism. I say "new" because he kind of already had a theme, and the piano/choral melody here is a rehash of the one I used there, but somehow this version really fits him. I think it's the drums. It's got a sort of modern, sort of spiritual, sort of melancholy feel, and somehow that wraps together all of Cor's different forms really nicely.

It's not the most organized piece, but I'm fond of it all the same.

VSTs are largely from EastWest, with some Magical8bitPlug thrown in for good measure.
