Description:

This song was a lot of work in such a short timeframe. A competition like this one requires that the artist immediately get to work developing ideas on the fly, and really understanding the composition between what was done in the original song versus what was completed in this version of the remix.

With little time to work on this production, I wanted to focus solely on the mixing side as I have not mastered the mastering side of the audio production, so I enlisted the help of Jabun, who provides monthly tips and tricks on this website to fellow audiophiles. A lot of back in forth was done to make sure all frequencies were correct and that the sound comes through across all devices.

Now to the remix itself. What I was going for was a stylized approach to the vocal sample given to make the background harmony coexist in ways that would make them interesting and unique. With the requirement that Kontact Komplete be utilize within the song, I had Komplete as the bass, the pads, and some of the internal parts. Additionally, I utilized the EastWest Instrument to give more life in some of the harmonies, from the standout quality of the trumpet to some of the violins that play in the background. All synths played a role in the creation of this piece.
