My first original of the year! Submitting this for Nate's contest.

Enjoy this bass track. It's definitely one of my more hard hitting pieces. Sound design for this one was just too much fun to make!!

Definitely one of my favorite submissions. The style is epic, this could totally
blow away an entire crowd. The overall compression is a little too much but thats
an easy fix :D.

Falsesouth responds:

Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Will definitely keep the compression in mind for my future releases.

hmmmm the idea is cool man, but the mix is horrible. Way to much highs, which turn me off alot and it sounds super overcompressed. And the melody is somewhat repetative. I know you can do better! Keep at it man!

Falsesouth responds:

It's actually mixed fine, believe it or not. It's the placement of the limiter and the ridiculous gain boost on the master. That "corrupted" the mix XD

Perhaps I could fix it and re-upload it, but I think releasing new pieces of greater quality is always a better approach.

I fixed that for newer projects that I intend to release soon. Newgrounds getting me back on track with feedback is always awesome.

Thanks for the review!

What App/products did you use to make this? I'm currently learning electro but I'm having trouble on what stuff to use.

Falsesouth responds:

Primarily FL Studio 12, and Serum. Both of these are relatively user friendly, which is why I recommend these two for new producers :)

Man, you've come far, your music has become better sounding, but a tip for mastering your future projects - it's better when the mix sounds quieter, right now all i can hear is overly loud wobs, but the elements aren't fighting over the frequencies so it's okay, that's great (that means your mixing and mastering is fine) :). But still it's always better to sound more quieter, because when somebody plays this on their speakers after a calm song, they're going to have an heart attack :D. When you post your next track, keep that in mind. Overall a 4/5, I don't listen to this kind of dubstep, but this track had some nice nuances to it :) goodluck

Falsesouth responds:

Hey, I've been referencing common dubstep artists in order to figure out the general gain the track should be. After some time, I decided that for the next tracks, I will lower that final boost a notch because it definitely could use a little more dynamic range. That seems to be the difference between my work and the top notch dubstep in terms of mastering.

After the past couple years, it makes me really happy to hear from you. Your feedback has been genuine and I really appreciate it.

Thank you so much!

I will be sure to make that adjustment in addition to stepping up my game with composition in general :D
