Another demo I created for the same project as my previous uploads (dark sci-fi thriller stuff). I guess I put most work into this one and am quite happy with the first half, not as much with the second half.

Anyway, so in this one I wanted genuine progression that covers various styles and moods as it goes on. With the intro I went for a bit of a retro sound which pays a bit of tribute to early electronic film soundtracks which sometimes used just a single ominous synthetic pad to build up the whole atmosphere. Next I wanted to introduce some thriller / noir feeling, extending the arrangement by some minimalistic percussion and strings and gradually go on to action. I wanted to keep it rather "sneaky", though, so I added a driving beat with a distinct bassline but nothing too bombastic.

That's also pretty much the point where I kinda got lost and the further build up towards a climax was a bit directionless, I guess, and I ended up with a poor man's version of UNKLE's interpretation of the X-Files theme.
